Not for me....10 mins down the road.
On saying that I don`t think it will happen. This has been used as a plan to buy the K.C!

| Quote: cod'ead "Somebody needs to get their calculators out here.
KC built 10 years ago at a cost of £46 millions. Allam now reckons he can buy the land and build a "Sporting Village" including a greater capacity stadium for £14 millions more? Get real!
Where would the Allams raise the money? How many people would be willing to invest in a 40,000 capacity stadium for a team that has spent all of two seasons in the Premier League, operating from a cost-base considerably less than the one proposed by the Allams? Let alone attempting to get a mortgage to fund the deal.
Is the site the old Capper Pass works? If so, has it been declared free of contaminants yet?'"
I love it Dave - Hull City lets all support them - the only time they have had any 'success' is while they have been at a Stadium paid for by the people of Hull - during the Needler times they had the odd moment - playing Chelsea in the cup for instance in 1966 but nothing of any substance compared to what Hull and Hull KR have brought to the city. The Allams appear to have a vision but let them get on with it - Its in the East Riding for Gods sake.

Do you know how many East Hull residents walk through the KC turnstiles to watch FC, so by your logic the money paid for the KC was wasted on a bunch of scroungers
BTW, I live in Hedon and am band F, so I apy a f'kin lot of council tax.

not quite but its near. i know the land in question, its been surveyed before as city were going to build a school of excellence there before they were inevitably relegated. if you turn off the a63 at the new ferriby junction, bear left and go just past the sandpiper pub you come to a roundabout. turning left leads onto a small lane which runs down to the humber. on the east side are 2 large fields either side of the railway bridge - coloured light green on google earth at the moment. this is where a lot of survey activity was going on - on the west side of the track is capper pass territory so its possible this land may be included as well as the 2 fields look a bit small for a full sports village development. (each field is approx 250000m sq and KC occupies a similar sized site if you include the park) incidentally the site is bordered on the east by the wolds way and a large tree belt shields this land from ferriby village
not sure if this is the land they still have in mind (the surveys were done when the previous owners were in) but this is the area they looked at previously. i know also that this land would be very cheap to obtain as east riding council are looking to develop the area. will try to find out a bit more tommorrow (even though the stadium won't happen )

So your not a council tax payer that contributed to the stadium then? or indeed a council tax payer whose council tax is going to/has been spent on Craven Park.

| The council are broke and need the money if it is sold the money could be used for front line services instead of laying off over a thousand people so who do you think cares about the kc being owned by the Allams the tax payer wont.
It only affects the supporters of both clubs that's it I am sure the rest of the council tax payers would rather have the money put to better use.

Looks like a nice place overtaken by chavs.

| Any money the council got for the sale of the KC can not be used to bolster the local tax or be used to keep schools/day centres or support sod all. It has to be either held in an account and some/all of spend on capital projects, so the money could be used say building something else we could sell off cheap at a later date.

People not in possession of even the faintest inkling of the facts about the KC should probably avoid commenting on the issue, lest they make themselves appear foolish.

5707.jpg NEED A SPARKY........CHEAP RATES!!!! Call 07970611193:5707.jpg |
|
| Hopefully........Hull City will move to Milton Keynes, cos that seems to be the way soccer works these days (See Wimbledon)
THEN....... The KC will be ours and be subsidised by some real bitchin' gigs that will make the Stadium the premier concert hotspot. Ohhhh I can see it now, no more skinny turf plouging wannabe soccer superstars ruining the pitch and no more threat of our season being interfered with by the building of extra seats to house the army of 'add-ons' that the Tigers seem to have aquired.
Bring it on
