You're right but it doesn't make it true!
Imagine if the crusaders beat hudds, we'd have finished 8th!

| What is the point of this? Only 3 trophies to play for in the whole season and whether he chose Hull or Rovers he would have had little hope of winning trophies with either.

| Biggest blunder has to be Peter Sharp
Under his watch
Briscoe to Rovers due to his love for Motu.
Getting rid of Danny Brough
Cussack recruitment
Dykes recruitment
Getting rid of Anthony Thackery

| Sharp wasn't to blame for Briscoe or Brough leaving,
don't know about the other three things but i agree with the Dykes recruitment,
it seems clubs have more success when they bring younger overseas halves in even if they are not first grade in the NRL as opposed to the more experienced ones.

| Quote: Sheldon "It's embarrassing!
What's the point in the play offs if the seasons over?'"
The season isn't over (well at least not for some )
The play-offs will decide who are the SL Champions for 2010. That is an indisputable fact (whatever anyones personal opinion is of this method for deciding a Championship)
Wigan are not the Champions for 2010 (well not yet at least), but they were awarded the League Leaders Shield (or the hubcap as it is rather unflatteringly nicknamed) for finishing top of the pile after the weekly rounds. In Australia this team (St George in 2010) are called the minor premiers.
Wigan will not be crowned Champions unless/until they win at OT on 2nd October. That is why teams always tend to look sheepish and apologetic when presented with the 'hubcap', because they know it means little if they don't follow it up with a Grand Final victory.
As for the other bit, about the play-offs also deciding the final positions 2-8 in SL. I'm not sure if it genuinely is SL policy or if its simply an urban myth. But don't forget the play-offs are a part of the SL programme and not a separate competition in their own right, unlike the old style Premiership (1974-97).
Either way, I wouldn't take Sky's word as gospel anyway. They quite often have difficulty getting tables right during the season. But if we indeed are 7th, then a table is going to look a bit daft with rovers above us but on 3pts less .

Not too sure, but it would be one way of finding out once and for all if we have finished 6th or 7th. (My, how exciting).
In fact, I'm not even sure if each team does receive prize money dependent on how high they have finished. I know they do in the Football Premiership, but not too sure if the same applies in our game.
Still, what an exciting way to end the season eh, trying to work out whether we've finished 6th or 7th. Honestly, I can hardly contain myself .

Nope. No matter how daft it sounds it's the official RFL policy. Final rankings are decided after the playoffs and these are the rankings used to decide prize money etc.

Fair point so if the play-offs (knock out rugby) are included in ranking, which is based on performance throughout the season, were does the challenge cup games lie in all this, because theorectically they must count as they are games.
And no matter what happens even after the play-offs, every time we bring up a league table for 2010 it will always place Hull FC 6th. Where is this ranking table displayed at the end of the grand final.
