| in an attempt to broaden the debate and get away from all this petty squabbling (we're all supposed to be supporters of the same team here at an important time of the season and reading some of the abuse on here has left me a bit depressed really) who should agar look at next year as backup for tansey? is it time to give young briscoe a go, use horne there, or recruit a utility back

if we get injuries Whiting will probably move there but Jack Briscoe should be pushing on.

| Without reading the full thread i thought Hally showed over 80 mins tonight exactly what he's all about. Moments of brilliance and then stupid moments which can cost a game.

This kid will turn around and bite us hard on our ass, if we are daft enough to let him go.
OK he has defensive problems but then again, tonight Warrington didn't seem to have too many problems opening up our right hand defence.
At full back he offers far more than Tansey'"
One of the best posts i have ever read.
Hall was superb at fullback tonight, first rate. I have been knocking recently. And I did not think that he would play again for Fc, but he was great tonight.

| The lad only made one mistake ..I didn't want him to play But he had a good game .. It was heavy rain from about Leeds all the way to Warrington but it stopped before KO Hally took the high kicks well his cover tackling was good don't forget Radford knock on that cost us a try and the sin binning of D Tickle didn't help We was in the game up to then plus Westwoods try was a double movement ..The final score for me didn't reflect the game

Jesus Christ. And I get stick for overstating how good Whiting is. Hall had a decent game last night, but he certainly wasn't 'superb', 'first rate' or 'great'. He did ok with most of what he had to deal with, but he was hardly tested at all. It was a decent performance - nothing more and nothing less.
I'm prepared to go on record now as saying Hall will never come back and haunt us. He'll find his level just like some of the other players we've let go that aren't cut out for the top end of SL. He's an Antony Thackery, or, at best a Tommy Lee - that's not designed to be a dig, just a statement of how good I think he is.

Agree with all that.....however compared to his past perfromances I suppose he was superb, great etc....
However I don't think the England contenders for f/back will be shiiting themselves

| Having trawled through the posts, maybe Craig Hall should be taken off the title and be replaced by bitchfest.

Was thinking the same. I'm not Hall's biggest fan but the facts are that, despite:
Not having played first team rugby for a few weeks
Having had an unimpressive season
Having been told he's no longer required at the club
Been selected in a position that's a long way from his best and where he's had nightmares before
Playing in a game on tv at the 2nd placed club
He did really well. That takes bottle IMO, and he can hold his head high this morning. For all the debate that's gone on about whether long term he is a top end SL centre, last night he let no one down. Well played son.
