| The fact that when Craig Hall was dropped from the team we have shown some consistent form is no coincidence. I don't think I’ve seen a much worse defender in the black and white for a very long time! Also he is not that great in attack, he drops the ball a lot and his passing and handling skills in general are poor for a super league player. He is ok at finding a gap and ghosting through it but not that amazing. As soon as he makes one mistake his head goes and that’s game over for rest of game. I think mental toughness is perhaps his biggest weakness. I hope he leaves at the end of his contract for the benefit of both him and Hull FC.

if you insist on being the tome of knowledge on what is happening at hull fc then why don't you at least tell us your relationship to the club
there's been alot of chat when people have speculated/commented and then sure enough you come on and supercede any gossip with 'i know everything crap'
and sometimes your licking of the club is a bit much. i find it dubious that you don't express much opinion (to be fair it's always positive). as if we're supposed to be privelidged that you're on here
i like craig hall too but his flaws are Massive

Nothing at all to do with getting some key players back, then? Or the collective kick up the backside the [ientire squad[/i got following Murrayfield?
Was it you who blamed Hall for the two late tries that Cas scored by any chance?

The thing is I believe is that not everyone does see him as a poor player, this forum is a very small percentage of the fanbase of the club , however as we see week in week out there is a "witch hunt" over Craig, Lee so on and so as is the way things are in a section of the fc fans, every week it seems there is a new scapegoat and Craig is simply the new Thorman this season.
However I agree that he does have a lot of aspects he needs to sharpen up on however a aquad full of players like Mal meninga we cannot afford and many forget that! a balanced squad will have players at varying levels of skill, age and experience and as a squad member for now he is a decent enough player but does have a lot to learn which is a more positive way to put it then "hes crap chuck him out"

I mentioned the 2 late tries Cas scored, although i did point out that for the 1st he was pulled back by another attacker. Can't remember what i said about the second i have slept since then
Our defence out wide is poor on both sides due to us being sucked into the middle consistently. Hall is not the only one guilty of it but when he plays winger and ends up inside his own centre he must know he is well out of position. Like someone else mentioned, if he just stayed in position it would remove a lot of the criticism about him.
Expro - What people are more dissapointed in is the fact Hall does not seem to have improved in defence since he started.

You dont even have to read my posts if you dislike my positivity of the club and its playing rosta, however unlike you I place my posts without attacking other posters for their views as everyones view is valid and non are wrong.
as for my relationship with the club "I am just a fan too" and have never once said i know everything!! you just read into it what you wish fella!! and for your information have never "put anyone down" but merely disagreed with the odd post with a constructive alternative note
however I dont see it as a crime to say week after week that things will improve when this and that happens AND THEN IT DID AS PREDICTED!
its not a chrime to report player contract signings AND THEN THEY HAPPENED
its not a crime to be positive albeit after a decent run it still seems hard for some to grasp that concept however if you personally feel privelidged that I am posting i thank you very much

I agree with you absolutely 150% that he does struggle in this area without a doubt and does leave the defensive set to shoot out for intercepts too often but the club are working on that and he is actually a lot better now midway through the season than he showed at the start, what many miss ( not you) in their excitement to come on here and tear him a new one is that he does actually make quite a few decent tackles but his stature is one where he is always going to be a grabber not a banger as he simply isnt built to hammer opposition because he is by stature a racing snake isnt he , but the lad does have some unique qualities with ball in hand that are what makes him such an enigma..
remember that Charriots had an awful tackle stat but was awesome in offensive stats , I know CH has a long way to go to be in martins league but I hope you understand the sentiment I mean..
Craig isnt that bad he is just top of this years witch hunt list

But no mention of the fact that it was Whiting who gave the ball away and put Chase in the clear?
This is an example of what I mean. We were down to 12 men and a serious error was made by another player, and yet somehow Hall is to blame for the try.

I wasn't actually slagging Hall of when i mentioned the two tries though. Nor was i belittling his performance.

You're probably not the poster I was thinking of then. My memory is easily as bad as yours, but the post I was referring to was a full-on blame-fest.

you know what Kosh , I do believe that sometimes an error can be committed on the other side of the island and CH is to blame , its just his turn before him Thorman, before him Lee etc etc who shall we pick on next when we have decimated the lads confidence beyond repair ??
tom Briscoe beware

It certainly seems to be the case that some players are always the scapegoat while others seem to be immune from criticism
The classic example last year was of course Thorman. This year it seems to be Hall. Turner got a lot of stick from some posters for Meli's tries for Saints last week but Whiting was the winger supposed to be marking Meli.
