| I was worried when I saw Lauaki against Hudds and Crusaders after his standard-setting performance against Saints. It looked to me like he was trying too hard to live up to the hyped reputation he'd suddenly acquired, and this resulted in a bit of indiscipline.
But since then he's definitely more sinned against than sinner. I think he's aggressive but not illegal and most spats have been self defence as a result of players not knowing how to handle him or proactively trying to target him.
I was wincing from the Golf stand during the derby as it [iappeared[/i that he was losing it a bit, and it just goes to show how things can be misinterpreted in the heat of the moment when you're too far away to see clearly. Every one of those incidents watched back on the telly showed, as we mostly acknowledge, Lauaki as the victim.
We've needed someone like him for a couple of seasons, now, and thank god he's here. Good on Agar for flagging this publicly. If he needs to follow this up in the media he should because we cannot afford for Lauaki to become stifled.

| Team's see Lauaki's temper issue's as an easy target to get a piggy back up the pitch, Its up to Lauaki to keep his head at heated moments in a game.Any team playing against Hull would be stupid not to try and whind him up, its easy yards or an easy two points.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "Lauaki's agression can be a huge asset to us but it needs to be harnessed in the right way. That said it's easier said than done to calm him down, when someone does something he doesn't like the red mist just seems to come down and he lashes out. You can't blame teams for roughing him up, what Rovers did wasn't sportsmanly or even within he laws of the game but if they had someone like Lauaki in their team I would hope we would try to wind him up too. The problem I have isn't really with Rovers tactics, but with he way the ref dealt with it as the ref judged him on his reputation rather than what was happening in front of him. Thats the way I saw it anyway.
That said he seems better than he was at the end of last year so maybe Agar is making progress with him.'"
AGREED,
now teams know he has a VERY short fuse there going to play on it all the time, as for the reputation part, if you retaliate by jumping up twice and throwing punches then the ref is gonna do you,
I said after watching you lot at Saints that coaches should send a lot of traffis Lauikis way to tire him out and make him less effective, but now coaches will have worked out how to play him.

| The Aussies are trying to get rid of the crusher tackle with serious bans for the perpetrator. What does the RL do about it? We end up with a penalty to KR and Lauaki unavailable for the next game with the, inevitable resultant, neck-injury. What would have happened if that same tackle had been on Horne - I dread to think.

No Martin......If Lauaki hadnt given away the 'biased' penalties he did...and Rovers had played a clean game.....They would've got a severe hammering by a more powerful, fitter and damn site more classy Rugby Leagu team.
Hame was indeed targeted by KR's (so called) hard men.....and fell into Justines 'trap'......I dont think it will happen in the next derby.....I cant bleedin wait for that. Lauaki will let the rugby do the talking.

| Quote: Dnats Ynnepeerht "The only people to blame are Lauaki himself, and to a lesser degree, the refs.
The refs need to give the guy some protection, constant niggling/cheap shots that aren't being penalised would begin to wind any player up.
Ultimatley it's Lauaki himself who needs to keep his cool and get some self disclipline. In every game he's played he's been shown up as an easy guy to wind up.
I don't blame Rovers one bit for trying to get a reaction from him. If Lauaki played for Rovers I'd expect our players to go out there and wind him up, gaining penalty after penalty, as it's so easy to do.'"
That will never happen though......Why do ya think we keep winning the fair play award????? Yes, its because we are the fairest team in SL.......Ask yourself this....How many times do we get caught offside or how many times have you noticed other teams laying on a second longer than necessary.NOT MANY IS IT ???
OK...i my be an FC fan but I can also see the game from both sides. If we have got away with a knock-on or as we saw in the Derby....a couple of stray hands in the tackle causing the ball to go loose...then i acknowledge it. My specs ain't always black'n'white...I like a clean game.
What I witnessed on Friday was a desperate to win KR team employing every crappy niggling tactic they could to try to keep their 'best fans in the league' (LOL...and their bandwagon MOT'd)) happy. Luckily the ref kept the scorline down by singling Lauaki out and watching his every breath.....Out of order IMHO....He was there to ref both teams....he forgot to keep his eye on the cheat that is Clint Newton...Who has gone on to say he was actually out to wind-up Lauaki to win penalties......CHEAP....VERY CHEAP!!! I admired Newton up til that game....he was one player who I actually thought could add something to Hull FC....Not now. What he has done is made himself a possible target for the refs to keep an eye on...and a deffo target for a fired-up Lauaki to take out with a perfectly legal and fair HARD TACKLE......cant wait!!!!

| It seems that only Jake Webster (for his tackle on Fitz) has been reprimanded.
So, open season on Lauaki, or a licence for dirty tactics?

Quite possibly. However if Lauaki can learn not to react, the refs will see the dirty tactics for what they are. They will, won't they?

Unfortunately I doubt any of the refs will have read the comments attributed to Newton in the Hull Daily Mail.

HULL KINGSTON ROVERS is my religion, Craven Park is my church and Jordan Abdull is my God: |

| Quote: knocker norton "You were awarded 9 more penalties then Hull, thats potentially 50 more plays with the ball in hand! I doubt your coach was quite so shallow in summarising were you lost the game.
Quite correct
We lost the game, you didn't win it. No doubt that will be easily rectified at the KC

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

On the contrary we did enough to lose the game discipline wise you simply were not good enough to win it when handed the chance...

Look, you've had your couple of years in the limelight, accept the fact that reality is setting in.
