Any of you people make your own curry's from scratch? If so please post the recipes' so I/we can try them.
I love a good homemade curry preferably without garlic.

Using the same Indian cook book for twenty years helps, I have a cupboard full of the core ingredients/spices, knowing they will all be used. There’s nothing worse then going out of your way and buying a load of stuff that you use once and ends up going out of date.
Anyway, if you’re serious about a few recipes I’ll PM them to you by all means. However, finding any without garlic will be a challenge (most of the dishes use a ‘gravy’ based on onion, garlic and ginger)!

Went to "Eurasian" once, after we got their flyer through the door, have to say it was definately the worst indian take out, and well in the running for overall worst take out I've ever had the misfortune to get.

I've never understood this obsession with people about eating the hottest curry than can manage.
Why put things in your mouth that hurt????
You wouldn't chew on a razor blade would you

| Bengal on Chants is my fave. The Raj used to be the dogs but I reckon its lost some of its charm since it first opened.
There is also a very good one in Ottringham (used to be the White Horse Pub, sign o' the times) on the way to the coast but dont go in winter its bleedin' freezing.

I made a really nice yoghurt based fish curry last night. Like you say it's only worth buying all the spices etc if you do a lot of cooking and will use them again.

| Bombay Tandoori in Analaby is worth a look. I'd recommend the south indian thali that they do.
You can also order online from them via rlHungryhouserl

I have most of the 'core ingredients'. Chicken curry is my favourite and if you have any decent recipe's...PM away.
Thanks in advance.
