I think he was criticised in the main because over the season he played poorly. Many other players were criticised for the same reason.

Now hang on here..... if I can quickly explain the "quota rules":
If you are born in the UK, no in Europe... erm in a European Community country (so not Switzerland or the Vatican City etc) and ... oh hang on, or Papua New Guinea. Wait a minute, start again.....
If you were trained by the intergalactic federation before you acquired a Corsican passport by mugging an elderly Scottish lady and you have spent at least 3 years playing for one club AND you are under-18 (or is that under-21?) then you are eligible to play for France... I mean England and, therefore, you are counted as non-quota. FACT! |
