I've paused at half time to watch CSI: New York. And brace myself fr the second half.
One thing I've not seen mentioned yet - our completion rate in the first half was 82%. That's a huge improvement over the last several games.

| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "Been in Leeds on business all day until late afternoon and I would not have usually gone, but I felt that after the week we had had I wanted to get behind the team and be there whatever happened. It was a win, Richard Horne was good at Full back, we got two points, and I came home happy.
It was by and large poor fair, but myself, Wolfie, Denbo and a few of the other die hard who went, are glad we did! When the good times return and they invariably will, because they always do (Unless some on here hound the board out and our club collapses over night) we will remember tonight and smile!
Lets now see what confidence the team take from the game! A Win is a Win and however poor it was against a team who have had a cuple of good wins themselves of late!
It is the bad times that make the good times good. Hull Fc are my team and I am glad I went to Salford!
This won't suit all the pyriahs on here who seem to prefare it when we have lost and revel in our current plight so let the criticism begin!'"
Spot on. Quite a few on here are clearly annoyed that FC have got an ugly win and still see fit to post negative post after negative post as it suits their agenda. We were only missing Crocker, Lauaki, Berrigan, Raynor, Tony, Byrne and King after all. Impressed with the effort and defensive work tonight. Fortunately we were near enough to see the sweat and effort at close quarters for ourselves, as opposed to those sat in smug cynicism, criticising every move we made in Jim Royle mode.

The fact that you are so disappointed we won baffles me.

I think it's a little unfair to say that anyone is annoyed when we win. Everyone on here is passionate about Hull FC, and most of us can see that we have some fairly substantial problems on the playing/coaching side of things. Some do get a little carried away with how they express their disappointment, but that's because they love the club and hate to see it doing so badly, so needlessly.
So what happens is that you get one group of people who express themselves in what might be termed a slightly excitable manner, and another set who assert that the first group are not real fans and are revelling in the club's misfortunes. They in turn say that the other group are sheep, and the whole sorry process continues.
Neither side is more to blame than the other, IMO.

if we didn't care we wouldn't be on this message board talking about the club
Of course I am happy we have got 2 points, but at the same time i feel if we keep playing like that we are going to miss the playoffs yet again.

A good and fair post from a member of group 2. The thing that hacks me off is the fact that group 1 claim they are the elite of our fanbase and are proving their superiority by witholding their support. Utter rubbish.

You see the thing is I'm not delighted. I know there are problems at the club mainly down to poor recruitment over a number of years. I know Agar has made selection and interchange errors this season and have said so. But I also know that with a gradual improvement of the playing staff which Agar has started (albeit they're not here) together with the 9 years we have guaranteed in the top flight the performances on the field will imporve.
Too many people on here believe that you have to have one extreme view or the other and no inbetween. It's pathetic in my view to continually slag everything that happens at the club even when it's not always bad. Thread after thread of garbage rumour and slagging. The other thing which many either cannot see or refuse to see is that the league is closer than it's ever been with teams beating other teams they didn't used to. This weekend is a pretty good example. So no team has a divine right to win but some people act on here like we have.
We have not played consistently well for sure since the GF defeat under Peter Sharp. Recruitment and retention has been dire, and we have had a very very poor run on injuries. But some of the fans on here are not the same type that we used to have in the 36 years I've been watching. Too much arm waving, insulting and slagging off these days. Sure our fans have always been quick to offer an opinion but I'm feeling now that some are a bit disappointed that we won tonight and a true Hull fan would never ever harbour a thought like that.

I appreciate that. Relative to getting beat by Salford at home, it is a good result. Relative to competing on level terms with the likes of Saints and Leeds and making a grand final, it is not.

TBF I think the only person to have used the word 'delighted' is you.
Personally, I'm always happy when we win. Just as I'm always pi$$ed off when we lose. That doesn't mean that I'm blind to the quality of the performance. It just means that I'm a fan.

Read my post above. Some people, like me, can see good and bad at the club. Not just one side or the other. It's called being balanced.
