Apart from Saints, we've lost by 10,7,1,4 and 4 points in the last 5. That doesn't suggest lack of effort IMO. We're putting the effort in to stay in the arm-wrestle but don't have the nous to create the right pressure in attack or put on intelligent plays.

10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

I would argue that the majority of the team don't put the required amount of effort in. After Friday's game I think only Washy, Berrigan, Dowes, Tickle, G Horne and Tommy Lee could have come away reasonably happy with their contribution. I may have missed one or two players, but even then it would be far from the vast majority.

| I think it is a tricky one this.
IN any kind of weather does not necessarily blindly putting up with constant stupid decisions. I personally don't think I would ever just walk away, don't think that I could. However, I can understand the frustration. Something snapped in me on Friday and I am still not entirely sure what. I'll go to Salford, see what saturday brings.
I just feel, that in the Lloyd era, noone considered not following the club trhough thick and thin. There was a sense of comarardary I thought amongst the fans and players. Maybe I am wrong there. Now, I am not sure. There is a lot of bitterness and foreboding. Bad decisions. Lacklustre playing performances, something is very wrong behind the scenes I think..........

| Quote: manu knighted "First of all this post isn't aimed necessarily at the op, but at the whinging fans in general. The club owe its fans nothing, the amount of people who expect the club to wait on them hand and foot, it really es me off. "Why havn't we been told about injuries," "we are the heart of this club," "I'm not spending my hard earned money when they can't be bothered."
I don't give a fook, and tbh its boring. You know what you are letting yourselves in for when you buy a ticket, if the team plays well and we win, then great, if not, its disappointing, but never mind you've seen a game and thats what you went for. No one makes you buy a ticket for a game, you do it out of choice, so when someone says we deserve better than we are getting, why? No one makes you go to games. If you don't think players are putting in effort then thats you opinion, but the reality is that this is a strong league we are in now, you look down the table and with the exception of Celtic you honestly don't know what the results are going to be. It's sport, some people do well and end up at the top, but unfortunatly for every winner there is a loser and you can't be happy all of the time. You have the best stadium in the league, will be in superleague indefinately in effect and because we've hit a bad patch people think the club is a "disgrace." Get a grip, this is a fantastic club and tbh the people who sit and hurl abuse at the players don't deserve to be accosiated with Hull FC.
As I've mentioned already this is sport, its entertainment, yet peoples jobs are on the line and people want coaches and players to be sacked just so that they can have bragging rights over Rovers. Someone mentioned in this thread about us being run like a football club. Who is responsible for that then? I'll let you work it out.'"
Excellent post MK.

Burnett and Calderwood were in most people's top 3. Thackray ran the ball in well. Was Yeaman's best game of late. Manu is knackered as he's being overplayed. He's an impact player. You can say that Whiting, Maloney, Hall, Radders, Broughton and Thorman weren't putting any effort in if you like, that's your opinion. My opinion is that Whiting's 2 games back from a year long lay-off, Maloney was playing only his second SL game, Hall's confidence is shot, Radders got through plenty of work, Broughton had 1 training session with the team and Thorman isn't the creator we need but you can't say he's not trying. Would the club rather have had Crocker, Lauaki, Tony, Raynor, Cusack and R Horne available? I think so. Quality is lacking on the pitch, and leadership both on and off it, but I don't think you can slate the effort. I've seen far far worse. 0-46 ring any bells?

Its not so much as a lack of effort but more of a lack of intensity and pressure. If we could cut out these silly errors we would have had far more ball and probably won all those games even playing dire rugby!
Just goes to show what we could be capable of if we actually played to our potential

| During most games you'll see a spell were one team is seriously under the cosh. They start hanging back waiting in defence and panicking when they get the ball just trying to get to the end of the set to get a kick in. We seem to be like this for most of the game at the moment and that is down to mental preparation from the coaching staff.

The seem to try to hold a steady line yet not move up quickly to have any breaks in the line. While giving away a few extra yards at a time i think they trying to play the percentage of closing the half breaks out.
