| Quote: Robbo4 "He wasn't within 10 meters of the player that charged the ball down. He was within 10 meters of the secondary Wire player that then caught the charge down? He only gave the penalty after the secondary Wire player was tackled.'"
Then he was clearly wrong.
The Hull player in front of the kicker is "out of play" until the ball is touched by a Wire player, providing he is not within 10m of the Wire player. Once the Wire player plays at the ball, it's then "all on". If the second Wire player was in front of the one who made first contact, he's clearly in an offside position and should be penalised.

But if he decided the first Wire player to touch the ball wasn't a charge down would the Hull player still be allowed to get involved?

| i like the rule ganson adopted whereby when the ball came loose in a 2 man tackle when we had the ball it was a knock on, and when warrington had the ball it was a penalty

Charge down or not, if the Hull player was outside the 10m of the Wire player, as soon as the wire player touches the ball (unless it's a clean catch), it's game on

Probably just Ganson dropping a bollock and not admitting to it.
Not the first time and certainly won't be the last

I noticed that too. He was unfailingly consistent with it as well.

| Quote: Robbo4 "Ok the situation is that a Hull player puts a kick in that is charged down by a Wire player. The ball falls to another Wire player is stood in front of the player that charged the ball down. He is then tackled by a Hull player. The result today was a penalty to Wire. So in what circumstances is that a penalty to Wire?
The only possible explanation I can think of is that Mr Ganson decided it wasn't a charge down and the Hull tackler was in front of the kicker and therefore didnt give the receiving (secondary) Wire player 10 meters. Would this be correct or does the first touch by the Wire player (even though not a charge down) negate the offside?'"
Maybe wrong but didn't think the 10 meter rule came into play from a charge down, please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

| Quote: number 6 "made numerous decisions today, mostly wrong ones, for both teams, yet his linesmen were just as inept, the only official to come out with a credit was the in-goal touchjudge who over ruled both ganson and the linesman more than once!'"
The in goal judge doesn't over rule anybody, Ganson is the only one making decisions on the advice of the other officials. Much like when he payed no attention to the TJ and awarded you a try

| The only other thing that I came up with was that he had possibly given an obstruction when Whiting checked back inside to kick. I'm not saying that this was the case but I couldnt think of anything else it could have been.

Surely if the Wire player who got the ball was actually in front of the Wire player who charged the ball down he was off-side

| Ganson often makes his own rules up. Say what you want about referee's they have good and bad games but one thing is always consistent about him. Whenever he takes charge at the KC he always makes the game difficult for us and comes up with unexplained decisions, he referee's like a little hitler in the way he gives decisions and imo isn't fit. He's too fat to keep up with play and his ego gets the better of him.

| It's always a dangerous game trying to understand what goes on in the mind of Mr Ganson but this is my take on trying to understand his ruling. Here goes....!!!
I think he ruled that the Wire player did not play at the ball when it was kicked and it just hit him. I think he is then saying that the Hull player who then picked up the ball was offside having been in front of the kicker and was not played on-side when the Wire player touched it cos he didnt play at it.
Not saying I agree with Ganson, just trying to fathom out his ruling

If it wasn't a charge down then could it be a knock on/forward pass??
