Do we really need another utility player though ? Grix may well be useful in a number of positions but we need a specialist HB or preferably two of them. (and at least one prop). (Centre wouldn't go a miss either)

I don't disagree he is better then what we have, if I'm honest I think he is a better stand off then Horne, I just think if we are bringing someone in for cover it needs to be an put and out scrum half, because if Long is out it would mean Horne or Berro at 7 which hasn't worked in the past.

I agree. I wouldnt stop at just bringing one cover half back in I would bring in a 6 and 7 to act as cover.

We simply can not be left in the same situation we found ourselves in last season with a hooker and a loose forward running our attack.

luke robinson,wouldn't be bad,if we pay a small fee for him.he could cover 7 and 9.more than likely he would rotate with houghton to free berro up at centre.

I dont see how people think we can sign a out n out 7 to come and play in the reserves until Long gets injured. When you look around the league not many have a so called out n out 7.

Leeds - Burrow injured replaces with Sinfield or Mcguire
Wire - Myler injured replaced with Monas
Saints - Eastmond replaced with Moore, Roby

Thats just to name a few who dont have 2 out n out 7s. Our main problem is out 6 and 7 arent good enough and to injury prone. But we cant really do much as both are under contract.

Agreed, I don't think it will happen but that's what we need, we have put ourselves in this situation by giving Horne and Long the contracts they have.

I know it's probably just a made up rumour, and there's nothing in it at all, but I would be very happy if we could sign Robinson.

Could interchange with Houghton at hooker, leaving Berro at centre, and could ably cover the halves if/when we get an injury there.

Also, I was speaking to an FC fan yesterday who said that he'd heard that Horne was considering retiring some time soon, probably at the end of the next season.

I only got talking to him because he saw my FC shirt, so I don't know how reputable his sources are as I don't know the bloke.

I said this after the Murrayfield Magic weekend when my parents where up there drinking with Robinsons parents, they said that Luke was unhappy with the signing of Brough and was looking to move, saying Hull would be a personal choice. However they did say that he wanted to come because Stephen Wild was going to be, however with Tickle re-signing, the Wild deal was off. Robinson might still be an option though

You're right, although Hudds do seem to have shedloads of pivots.

But still they mix it up with Brough, Robinson and Drew. All 3 play at 9 as much as 7. For me im writing this season off for Hull then fingers crossed we dont re-sign either Horne or Long and bring in 2 top notch halves for 2012.
