Quote: "It is thought the highly-rated Kopczak is on the wanted list of several clubs, with Wigan and Huddersfield understood to be among the front-runners.
Bradford's acting chief executive Gary Tasker believes Kopczak has been approached by rival Super League clubs, contrary to a gentleman's agreement not to do so, and says the matter has been put into the hands of the club's solicitor.
'I'm bitterly disappointed that the player has taken advice which has resulted in him leaving the group at this late stage of the season,' Tasker told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
'The major disappointment in this episode is that a young player on a good contract doesn't normally terminate it unless he is being offered better terms elsewhere.
'At a meeting of Super League clubs several weeks ago, the clubs agreed unanimously that they would not approach Bradford's contracted players.
'"

| I like Johnson, a very mobile prop, young and good footwork. Think he will surprise people.

| Quote: Dave K. "Pathetic by Wakefield, are you telling me that there club has never (through an agent) approached an out of contract player before the anti tampering rule?'"
Yes we did and got caught and paid a fine.
Your turn now if RFL and Wakefield proove this.

| i find it quite difficult to believe we would tap up a player when all season mcrea has bleated on about the transfer deadline and not being allowed to speak to players before that! i'll wait to see if this develpos futher or its just another club owner upset that they have lost a player to another club!

| He won't have 'signed' a contract before September 1st, the deal will have been agreed between us and his agent (which isn't illegal). He was rumoured to have agreed this deal before this season even started too.
If there was even the slightest chance there was an illegal approach, moaning to the local rag before making a complaint to the RFL is hardly the professional thing to do.
This kids good, will surprise a lot of people.

| Posters are saying AP had signed 6 players before 1st September. No name were quoted So who saying Johnson was one of those players.Hull lost S Briscoe to Rovers because he didn't sign a contract at the time with us he waited for a better offer from Rovers.I would like to bet AP is not losing any sleep over the signing.Plus I believe thing would had been done by the book .ps just an opinion

No problems losing a player if a club offers more money AFTER the deadline has passed and not BEFORE.

Where will there be any proof??
It wont be on the contract (if there is one) as only a bunch of morons would pre-date it before the September deadline!!

Actually, I think that is against the rule. However it is also nigh on impossible to prove.
Nobody takes any notice of this rule - Pearson has been pretty explicit that he isn't, 'can't name the players before the deadline' and all that. He knows it can't be enforced, and I'd be surprised if any club didn't have feelers out, pre-Sept 1st.
That said, breaking eggs is a pre-requisite for but not a guarantee of making an omelette.

| Non-starter as far as RFL action goes. Johnson won't admit to being tapped up, neither will his agent or Hull FC.
As has been said, everyone does it, you'd be naive to think otherwise.
The jerk that stated AP is just buying silverware needs to sort his facts.
The number of home grown talent that has made debuts and been signed up this year has surely got to be the highest number in super league ( or close surely?).
No FC fan will lose a wink of sleep over any of this dummy spit from Wakey....

Speaking to agents isnt illegal, you can talk to them whenever. Its only players you cant speak to. I dont see the difference myself but thats the rule atm
