| More fundamentally, the issue will arise of the equality of his decision. As a publicly owned facility available to all, will Hull City Academy allow wheelchair fans to join e academy, will they allow women and children to join it?
In short, no. They are excluding minority groups in favour of young men. It is an important angle and one that the pressure group should be exploiting, especially with the FA ahead of any assessment.

| FA Academies are being set up for the sole purpose of producing Premiership players of the future, so it looks like I'm excluded as well.

| Good response from the council in the HDM, I thought. Obviously, winning the argument is probably not even half the battle - but it'd be better than losing it.
On the exclusion of disabled people - that could be thrown at the whole of professional football. Disabled people aren't excluded from competing because they're disabled, not directly anyway (long-shorted footballer Cliff Basten was deaf, iirc). No more than I assume wheelchair users are excluded/absent from some of the amateur teams that are being evicted.
If he's excluding other users (disabled or not) and taking it over for the exclusive use of City's academy or repurposing in breach of the agreed terms of the SMC contract, then the council have the option of acting, I imagine.
It'll be interesting to see whether the offer of arbitration if/when rejected is a step towards action or towards forming a committee to investigate.

| I think the good guy in all of this Angus Young was trailing his column in the paper today but he gets it and what's happening he's been a Newcastle fan for years and was going to have a go, but that's not on the website only ITV covered the Council debate which incidentally showed everyone there whatever party they represented in favour of supporting the community groups and not allowing the change of use. anyway I hear that Angus Young has got hold of the lease now so we might find out what is spooking the Council.

| I'll be honest up til now I've been pretty dismissive of a lot of the Allam haters especially the City fans who are anti Tigers. He has done a pretty good job for City, took them when they were looking like going pop and delivering them to the promised land (just realised that deliverance to the promised land was escaping the Egyptians grasp, pretty ironic really) of the premier league, getting them a cup final etc and really whats in a name.
The whole FC eviction / persecuting thing obviously from my perspective was a bit of a side show which I honestly thought he had no chance of winning (nor should he) but it was winding you lot up so all the better.
But this is just ridiculous, I'm not sure what goes through his head at times and the sad thing is he'll probably get away with it. I can imagine this has turned a lot of people like me who didn't care what did into people who are now firmly in the anti Allam camp. Its the old give an inch and he'll take a mile.

I think really its just the injustice of it all which looks to me to be at best nieve and worst bullying.

actually, it's a commercial lease agreement, and Local Authorities refer to the terms when taking action, it just takes a lot of political will to take action. Allem may regret doing this so close to a General Election, lots of votes to be won by being seen to be trying to get equality for the community.

Can not see anything in the agreement that allows a change of use and to exclude the citizens of Hull from exercising anything ...............
The council have to enforce and stop this happening, they own it and will be the ones paying for it to be put right when he walks away with his pockets full of silver

I know what it is, I wasn't referring to anything political when I said 'parties', I meant groups/organisations/individuals.
My point is that a contract/agreement that doesn't now suit those parties can be overlooked at the expense of joe public because one party just want to financially profit and the other just don't have the gumption, time, money or indeed know-how to fight it. it could well take a legal challenge by an individual but given the way the council are lap dogs in this it might not be even allowed.
Basically a legal challenge to have the SMC (& the deliberate and compounded efforts to diminish revenue and profits) AND the council to be investigated over the whole sordid affair, the misapropriation of a council owned building for the benefit of a private company and its profits.
The council aren't really that interested, they'd rather let the stadium be sold up to Allam for what they can get and be done with it, completely wash their hands. They've let things things fly for far too long, haven't ever had proper control over things they'll just blow a load of hot air and the reality is that Allam will garner more control until such a time as the council just give up..
