Agree with all previous posts, Abdull looks to have trimmed up well. Seemingly still a bit for him to lose but he's got another 3 months working hard on that.

Think Balmforth looks to have really trimmed up aswell. Think he really needs to find the right balance. He doesn't want to trim too much as his size last year was vital in him pushing over the line at times, but a bit of weight loss will help with his movement in defence and also speed out of dummy half. Could be a massive year for the lad.

I saw Fash on crutches at the end of the season, he might not have recovered yet

Look at their reel, it asks who people want to see and predicably they must have been asked for Abdul and Balmforth. There are short clips of both of them with their names on screen. Both look much trimmer than last year. Bodes well.

Briscoe should be nothing more than a back up,same with Chamberlain

Fair play to abdul if he's lost the weight he needed to. Let's hope it stays off and he doesn't pick up the niggly injuries which seem to plague him

Fash is in the middle of the HDM training photo.

Hope Carty has Fash writing out ‘I must not get sin binned for taking cheap shots on opposition players!’ 1,000 times. Seriously needs to up his game after last season, otherwise he’s next on the Taxi Rank for being shipped out of the club.

Think everyone gets a fresh start, I was critical of the likes of Sao and Fash last year and still believe that they should have stood up more and lead by example. But a lot it was probably frustration, lack of fitness (team wise) and confidence. Both have shown they are good players and hopefully with a bit more depth, certain players will have to earn there place in the 17.

It actually looked like a meaningful session with a mix of disciplines which is a good start. In the past we've seen a mix of not touching a ball till Christmas, easing our way in, not overdoing the fitness side so we can peak at the right time and a whole host of everything in between.
Also great to see him hands on, at the end of the day he's our most experienced coach by far and needs to be on the training pitch and getting his style and culture into them from the off. I hate seeing coaches stood back with their assistant 30 metres away wrapped in tracksuit and bench coat watching wistfully from a distance. Players respond far better to hands on management as in most lines of work.
Really pleased Lasty is there and think he'll learn a lot more which can only aid his development. I do genuinely see Grix as surplus to requirements now. Can see him taking a championship job when a decent one comes up.
