Quote: dayvoz "So we have 2 of our young players both U19 internationals,Firstly Abdul who is back up to Pryce learning from someone with lots of honours and international experience yet you attack Radford for stopping Abdul's development and then say you would have Logan behind a player(Michaels) lacking match fitness and another(Arundel) whose performances have generally been below par making him 5th choice, now most people would see that as blocking his path to the team.
By the way anyone can get stats off wikipedia regarding Michaels.'"

icon_rolleyes.gif I 'attacked' Radford for playing decrepid old men (one prop, one winger, you figure out who) instead of the youth when he had chance, I 'attacked' Radford for not giving Miller a chance, I 'attacked' Radford for binning off our young dream team centre, and yes I still think that playing JA at 6 at a time when he needs to be really pushed hard was the way to go because he will stagnate at Doncaster, he's shown already that he is ready but whatever.
And I've watched Michaels play, I don't need to go on wiki (which is bull anyway), he makes Yeaman look like a slug, he can tackle, he can pass & importantly he is great in the air which if he's to be left centre we need that because Yeaman & Talanoa are suspect in that area (in fact yeaman rarely ever leaves the ground).
Logan hasn't being all that pre-season, and with an attack like Warrington I want an experienced centre even if that means he's not 100% fit. IF he's no-where near fair enough but talk of not playing him because he had an infection in his knee over a month back is tosh (his routine clear out surgary was in December btw)
If as has being said we won't play Arundal for financial reasons & michaels is deemed a long way off then we only have Logan or Naughton to fall back on, those calling for Whiting to play there, well he got mullered last season playing centre and should be no-where near the backs.

Probably a fair indicator that Radford was more or less right in his decisions then.

In your opinion, but on balance he was wrong IMO, Miller probably wasn't going to be good enough but he was hung out to dry by Radford and never stood a chance, not in a team that was unbalanced, that was playing pants with a coach out of his depth scratching his head last year. The other two situations happened and they were mistakes (or decisions that he got wrong) that I rightly highlighted.
I'd be interested to see how you think 1 right decision out of 3 is more or less right rather than more or less wrong?

You can play with rib cartilage damage though. It's painful but you can. In fact I remember Radders doing it himself. He's got another week and a half to rest up too, so although I don't know how bad it is, I wouldn't be writing him off yet.

It's ok we've got a shed loads of injuries and suspensions Paterson, Dobbo, Hock(suspended), Locke, Sau & Chase

Can't see much hope for us really with the way the 2 teams are performing i expect Hull by 14. Hope i'm wrong but can see Houghton running us ragged

If playing him compromises a fuller recovery though I wouldn't risk him. Mini has taken up the "lead from the front" mantle and we have Hadley, Whiting, Thompson also.

Junior Sau should be back for that game judging by the tweet from him in response to the Doc, the others though, time will soon tell.

Funny how the 'Miller hung out to dry' line comes out after one decent game against the poorest defence in the league.

Nobody wanted Miller to play more than me, he got his chance and was poor. Even in an unbalanced side, the basic skills should still be there, surely?

If he doesn't score a hat trick against Rovers, nobody would have even mentioned him.

They may have Sau but they also have Caton-Brown which sort of balances it out a bit

Firstly read again what I said.."miller probably wasn't going to be good enough". There are plenty of fans that was saying he was hung out to dry last season or are you forgetting? One good game (or two if you count Wakey's comeback win against Cas as well) doesn't change what happened last season
Iff you think that an inexperienced half playing alongside Horne (or whomever he was playing with) in a team that performed so badly was going to show you his 'skills' when the coach didn't even include him in the first 7 games then you're crazy. That said Miller was thrown into the 8th game of the season and we won handsomely. In fact as I pointed out our win ratio with miller in the side was higher than with him out..go figure(And would have being even greater had it not been for a few pointless rubbers at the back end of the season)
After a few games Miller was dropped again for not much of a reason AFAICT, then brought back for a few more games then that was it.
Do you honestly think he was treated well, given a fair chance given how poor we were? Do you not think that the whole team played poorly (aside from a couple of notables) & that was partly down to the coach.
Yes Miller WAS hung out to dry..

As was proved.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "There are plenty of fans that was saying he was hung out to dry last season or are you forgetting? One good game (or two if you count Wakey's comeback win against Cas as well) doesn't change what happened last season'"

Not half as many that were saying he was gash.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "Iff you think that an inexperienced half playing alongside Horne (or whomever he was playing with) in a team that performed so badly was going to show you his 'skills' when the coach didn't even include him in the first 7 games then you're crazy.'"

I expect him to be able to kick a ball accurately or know when or where to kick to. Not sure what him not playing for the first 7 games has to do with it though?!?

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "That said Miller was thrown into the 8th game of the season and we won handsomely. Yes, a run that included London twice, Rovers, Widnes & Salford.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "After a few games Miller was dropped again for not much of a reason AFAICT, then brought back for a few more games then that was it.'"

For not being good enough, maybe?

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "Do you honestly think he was treated well, given a fair chance given how poor we were? Do you not think that the whole team played poorly (aside from a couple of notables) & that was partly down to the coach.'"

He played 24 games in a season and half, more than enough of a chance in my eyes. Go back to the beginning of last year, there was nobody more vocal about Miller getting a chance than me.
Plus others seemed to do fine given the rest of the team played 'poorly' as you say.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "Yes Miller WAS hung out to dry..'"

He really wasn't.
