He was representing, as a paid employee of Hull City Football club, the Owners - the Allams - in their own football programme.

At that time the "Philanthropist Allam" smokescreen was billowing across the City. The local elections were looming, the old Council were so keen not to to jeapordize their chances the fence was cutting ever deeper between their fat buttocks. The Mail and Humberside were drooling and blinded and couldn't question the bogie on the end of their noses. Assam was waving glossy architect's pictures as evidence and everyone thought an offer had been put in.

The election has now happened. The shrewd - mainly working class - councillors, many of whom had actually lived in Hull for most of their lives, and not commuted in for a political career, have taken control and have swept any lingering flies away. There is no offer from Allam. His glossy photos appear to have no business plan (at least, not one that can be presented with any credence to the council) behind them. Sensible folk are now seeing the wood behind the trees.

But when that article was written, things were viewed differently. Hysterically, as it turns out. But, Pearson works for, and is paid by Allam. What would you expect him to say differently [iat that time[/i?

Next you'll be saying that Rule should have spouted off each week in the Hull Programme that, actually, Agar was stifled and the old board were more than stringent with the cap. Or Hudgell should come out in his programme and make unprofessional and childish digs about his more professional neighbours, completely at odds with his real views as CEO. Oh, hang on.

Any lack of revenue can be offset by your millionaire backer, Parasol. Plus you have the Allams money. In terms of facilities we have a better ground but not sure how that benefits us in playing terms. In fact a smaller, less accomodating ground can be an advantage.

You are no longer this little guys you like to portray yourselves as, you're a SL club and should be competing with the other clubs in that division.
