Said exactly the same thing today. We have everything that a club needs to be sucessful yet we scrimp and scrape when it comes to the coach.

If it's always the players' faults then by that logic a poor coach can never be sacked. Obviously, the players were awful today but ultimately the coach has to take responsibility for their (lack of) preparation/execution of gameplan. It goes with the territory I'm afraid and when it doesn't come off, fingers will naturally point at the coach.

| Quote: Matty_HullFC "Do you think the coach at this level should teach players how to wrap up a player or how to play the ball? We lost because our forwards couldn't handle Leeds' and let them run riot .'"
As I've said countless times on here before, in the past few seasons our players have been making mistakes that they didn't either at previous clubs or under previous coaches. They've also shown in some games this season that they are capable of eradicating them. The question therefore comes back to why they aren't doing it every week. I can't help but feel that the lack of consequences for poor performances is a huge factor in that, unless you happen to be under 23 and not from the Featherstone area.
So no, I don't think a coach at this level should have to teach players to do those basics, but he should be making damn sure he demands it from players who are evidently capable of it and dealing with them when they don't. Agar simply does not do this.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Anyone know what Agar's said in post match interviews?'"
Quote: Mrs Barista ""We've got a devastated changing room in more ways than one," said Hull coach Richard Agar.
"We're busted up. Kirk Yeaman is going for X-rays and Danny Tickle has a knee injury. We lost Lee Radford early on with his ribs and Mark O'Meley popped a rib but courageously carried on. The changing room is a bit of a war zone at the moment.
"I thought we started the game well but we didn't come up with enough plays and we didn't get a 50-50 (decision) all day.
"We certainly didn't help ourselves. I think we had one set out of 14 at one stage and we needed to weather the storm better than we did. A couple of the tries were pretty unacceptable efforts."'"

Again, I'll use the parent analogy. If a child ignores their parent, should they give up trying to instil discipline?
The simple fact is, too many of our players face no consequences for their performances, so have nothing driving them to improve.

I'd go so far as to say that that logic leads to the conclusion that a coach is unnecessary. Cue the board attempting to save a bit more money.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

Cheers mate. The usual stream of injury flannel and excuses, in short. Even at full strength we'd have been nowhere near Leeds. The 1 set out of 14 point is just silly. Leeds earned that possession through forcing errors and penalties.

As I said in my post at the top of this page, you only seem to get dropped if you're under 23 and not from Fev. And the players know it.

Read it again - that's not what he said. In fact as an analysis goes it appears to be woefully short of any reasons for the defeat.

[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]

You make fair points and I find it hard to disagree with you. I do find Hull's form unsettling however can see improvements in our team this year, I aren't defending Agar to the point where he does no wrong, I'm just providing balance to a message board that seems dead set that if Agar was gone we'd suddenly turn into a team that can beat the reigning champions and win the league and cup despite finishing 2nd to last the year before.

his "we didn't get a 50-50 (decision) all day" is a blatant moan about the ref
