| Correct. Yeaman still scores trys for himself because he doesn't get alot of ball, I agree with you about Kingy and I don't where B&W glasses, he should have some criticism but say get rid of him is just laughable.

That for me sums up why G Horne should be let go (along with others) if we are ever going to challenge the top teams in SL.

Definately, the only player who has the gumption to take it in against the grain.
Very apparant in the Saints game, they had runners hitting all sorts of angles, we just shipped the ball along the line (slowly at that) with no-one coming from deep or at an angle. As bad as Thorman is he isn't helped by the total lack of options around him, Sean Long must of thought 'Jeez, what have I let myself in for'.

| Quote: Baboon "How about moving Yeaman to 2nd row? Didn't he say, once, that he prefered playing there?'"
He could well be the answer to the wide running second row option with Tom Briscoe playing left centre and Raynor on the wing, with the right service thats a fairly devastating line up.

| Quote: PAUL M "Getting rid of Yeaman would be absolute madness. Granted he is not playing aswell as he did 2/3 years ago but that is mainly down to getting zero service. He is actually doing quite well this season and I am not sure why so many Hull fans want to slag him off so often.'"
Its comments like "he's one of the best three English Centres in SL" that annoy me. Its a very blinkered attitude. For me Yeaman isn't in the top 5 English Centres.
Yeaman is not a bad player, but he simply hasn't developed at all. Its evident that he relied heavily on Cooke (but then again, the team did also).
His inability to create an opening for himself or relase his winger on a consistant basis to simply try to plough through the opposition shows he has major weaknesses to his game.
If he were to play 2nd row, he would be a useful player, but I personally think he adds to Hulls problem of our style of play. Head down and don't pass.
Now, if a decent coach got hold of him, it might be a different story.

Gidley would be rubbish without a pass of the ball. Says it all for me.

I think this is a major problem with the club, too mant utility players and not enough specialists

Lets face it Andy after Senior and possibly Gleeson (although overrated for me) there are no outstanding canidates for the centre position. Yeaman, Atkins, Shenton and the other nominess are all fairly similar and none of them have reall staked a claim to be the next big thing.
The fact is Gidley gets early ball in space and is bale to then create or score tries. Yes he is a superb passer of the ball and in particular the Gidley flick but Yeaman gets little chance to shine. He very rarely gets quality ball like Senior does at Leeds and if you out any of those two centres in Hull's side they would not do much better imo.
We need to keep Yeaman and work the ball so he gets in earlier which would then give him options. The best we have looked in attack in recent season is when Manu and Yeaman link up together.

Okay I admit I was wrong about Tickle however I'll stick to my guns regarding Yeaman. Frankly I'd rather have Shenton than him. Even the not always accurate facts outweigh it for Shenton www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2009
He wont improve as an attacking centre & his defense has become a bit iffy at times, sell him off while we can get some decent money for him.
People on here have consistantly talked about getting a top quality centre, someone the younger lads can learn off as well as adding some zing t our attack, well that isn't Yeaman.
Wont pass to his wingman, cant pass for toffee anyway & has been said is a heads down type of runner & creates very little. In the main he's been great in defence & that for me has been his saving grace but though he might score a few tries how many more might we have scored if he'd passed the blasted egg.
Sorry but for a supposed GB centre now in his prime he is a let down.

That's only because Manu has the freakish ability to break half a dozen tackles before sending Yeaman away. It's never clever link up play that sets him free, more a case of Manu having to perform miracles. Can you imagine how good Manu would be in a team that is able to create a bit of space out wide, he'd be unstopable.

Wrong!
It's usually when Yeaman runs an angle off Manu and the defence just think Manu is going to step. He gives a short ball to Yeaman who runs through the gap. Worked plenty of times but we just don't do it enough as the ball gets to Manu/Yeaman too late.
I watched the Hudds/KR game and when boh sides attacked all it took was two widish passes from the ptb and they were attacking the flanks. We take too long to get the ball wide.

Tony Clubb already looks a better player and Paul Sykes would get infront of Yeaman, for international call ups (along with Atkins and Shenton).
It really amazes me that just because a particular player come from Hull they are, in the eyes of some, imune from criticism. Take you B&W glasses off. It was the same with King, who, in the last 3 years, has only produced half decent performances when his next contract has depended on it.'"
cant argue with that...

our passing is worse than an under 11's side. No depth to the line, 1/2 the players can't actually pasas the ball quickly and accurately and no one bothers to take the ball to the defensive line. We are so easy to defend against it's unreal
