| Quote TnT="TnT"I imagine we were aware of Homes knee due to medicals and he may already have seen a specialist. I’ve heard the term wear and tear related to his problem. I guess the only surgical option is a washout with the odd jab. Not sure how long he’s contracted for but if it was a year then that’s about right.
We may not be able to find a back rower available who can strengthen us, so we might have to give the youth a chance. I would expect the staff foresaw this?'"
Two year deal for someone who was already starting to miss a large chunk of games was always a poor move for me could have accepted a year.

| Quote Cuddleclub="Cuddleclub"Club have known about it all pre season, don’t know why they haven’t done anything about it. Promising start for the new back room staff
'"
Going on my own experience with a long standing issue, I was advised by a specialist that the issue could be managed with physio & monitoring which was best course of action. All seemed to be going well and was improving, then a short while after during a check up they said surgery was only option.
It could be that the specialist has given Holmes & Club similar advice. So it’s not always as simple as saying the club should have known etc. I’m pretty sure the club will have known as much as possible, they would have to for insurance purposes alone. They will follow the guidance and advice given by the medical people as to why is best course of treatment and action accordingly.
Just hope that Holmes can make a recovery and at least have a part on the field in 2025.

| Hardraker out too, going to be tough, either Westerman or Chamberlain at centre. Think we have too many out and can't see us getting anything from the game

Think I'd go with that, wouldn't risk anyone not 100%, think the Hudds game should be our target.

| Losing Hardaker will be a big loss as thought he good against Catalans.
Was always going to be a difficult task to get anything from this Friday and now a touch more difficult. Still possibly a time for one of the young lads to shine and take their chance and at least this time around they'll have experienced support around them on the field.
Would imagine that losing Hardaker will see Logan Moy come is at FB with Rapana switched to centre?
Possibly:
Moy
Baron
Rapana
Briscoe
Martin
Cust
Sezer
Ese ese
Balmforth
Aydin/Sao
Lane
Chamberlain
Asiata
Ashworth or Salabio if Ashworth not well enough
Sao/Aydin
Fash
Kirby/Hutchinson
A lot depends on who JC feels is the best player to slot in at Centre in place of HArdaker

Completely agree with this, surely he could have had a operation already if that's what's needed

I think I'd go big on the bench can always play Fash/Ashworth or Ligi for 20 in 2nd row and move Laney to 9 to give Balmforth a breather

Surgery is always the last resort as it’s costly, has risks, outcome is uncertain and sometimes not an option- not everything is operable . Plus there is the time element. Think once again fans see things in black n white if you pardon the pun.its in the clubs and players interest to get the optimum outcome so having acquired Holmes, rightly or wrongly, I’m sure the club is doing the right thing for Holmes the player and Holmes the person.

| It's a blow losing Hardaker as he did well last weekend.
I'd probably also go with Moy at full back and Rapana offering that experience in the centres. It's probably going to be a tough night. With the team from last week I'd have given us an outside chance. With the squad name, looks very unlikely. Hopefully a couple back for the Huddersfield game which we should be winning.
