| Quote: Mild Rover "I wouldn't put that down as altruistic by any stretch. However, the historical context is important. SL had broken away as a separate entity, taking the money and running, as it were. It really wasn't reasonable to then ask the Northern Ford Premiership to pick up SL's broken clubs for the 'good of the RL family'. Sheffield were initially denied a placed in the 2000 NFP, until Bramley dropped out, iirc, so it was wider than just a Rovers-Hull spat.
In addition, it isn't like Hull FC chairman Tim Wilby hadn't recently been out to euthanize Rovers in their hour of need.
Hull fans don't like Rovers - that is as it should be. But the retcon moralizing and lessons in humility on offer here recently, while unintentionally hilarious, suggests something of a self awareness deficit. [sizeWhich you'd never get from Rovers fans - no siree. [/size
Mild Rover - the master of irony!!

| Every single Rovers fan would be absolutely p155ing themselves if we was in their position and would all probably buy Salford shirts and cheer them on. They would revel in it for years (they have history of this of course) and would be dancing in the streets if we got relegated.
Me on the other hand would chuckle if the dreaded happened and they went down but id soon forget about it - for me Leeds are the team who are our greatest rivals and the ones im more bothered about

So relegation in all sport should now be got rid of because of players potential mental health problems due to the stress of relegation?
Not aiming this at you Wilf but what a load of ! What next no finals in case the losing team gets upset? Or maybe no games in case anyone loses? Seriously wtf!!!!

He's a bonehead. Sensationalism
1) When Rovers or Salford go down and lose the £1m central funding, they'll either have to cut their cloth accordingly or their chairman will bankroll the deficit. If it's the former, the better (more expensive) players will likely leave and find other clubs. The crap players (cheap), like Cockayne will likely be kept on.
2) A RL players career is not for life. Every player knows their playing career could potentially end suddenly, and at best mid to late 30's. Players should be planning for it, ensuring they're trained/educated or have business interests to ensure they're not screwed once their playing days are over.
3) They all know the league structure and that this could potentially happen for nearly two years.
4) When Cas got relegated in 2006, did he not celebrate Rovers' promotion?
5) Perform better.
6) Don't be naïve enough to buy into get rich quick pyramid schemes.

| If he'd been d to do anything other than watch when Stevie Michaels waltzed round him on Good Friday maybe that would have helped.
Seriously though, how is this any different to relegation coming down to the last game of a season? He's not thought this through. Surprising, that.

If I recall, I thought our Steve ran straight through the hapless tackler.
Nice to see him so concerned about Mental Health issues/worried about his own livelihood* (*delete as applicable). So much nicer than beating the **** out of a defenceless person in the street.

| People lose their jobs every day and have to get on with life. As has been said, most of the players will stay where they are, they may have to take a pay cut but that's teh price of being shiit all season.
Anyway, I thought cockayne was going to be a herbal life millionaire?
