| Resting him at the start of the week and he's "travelling OK" by the end of the week at the moment, according to Agar.
He's been told unless he continues playing through the injury, no way he'll get a new deal, according to MrPhilb.

50k from his wages don't count on the cap, so why the heck not keep him

| horne i feel is still a fair bit of from 2006 but to say hes past it is laughable, looks back to nearly his normal size for the first time his defence is back to his best and is deffo worth keeping but take it a year at a time regarding the contract but he should be here next year with out doubt and with another attacking fullback, hooker and most importantly a youngish halfback in seymour theres plenty of generals if you like on the field to allow horne to do what he does best.

| It would be just typical after struggling with him being ill/injured/below par for the last few years to offload him just as he's starting to look like and play rugby reminiscent of the Horne of old.
This and his willingness to once again persevere for us with the hernia makes me think he should be signed for another year. Although we pay a big salary we can afford it and capwise we wouldn't get the same value from another as all the new man's wages would count.

And replace him with whom?
Horne's well away from his sell-by date. I honestly thought that he'd lost his game following his neck injury and his diagnosis as diabetic. I'm pleased to say that he proved me wrong.
Only an idiot would think that two life-changing medical conditions would not have any effect on a player's attitude to the game. I think that Horne has now realised and accepted what he can and can't do and his form this season, although still some way short of his 2005 form, has proved to me that he's still worth retention.

If we don't keep Horne, I am going to be disappointed. I undersand the knockers, but he is a proper hero in my eyes, on and off the field. Done nothing this season to suggest we should bin him. Sometimes loyalty should be rewarded, as should his form this year.

another one trotting this out, just because it isn't on the cap it doesn't mean we don't pay him it.
2 years is a bad move, unless it's a seriously reduced contract.

I don't care whether the club has to pay the £50k, it's not counted on the cap. So Horne gives us value for money in a cap sense.
Think it will only be £25k from next year because Yeaman will get the other half.
