I do not post on here very often but do read the thoughts and comments and I feel we all need to step back and take a look at what we had last season.
We all had big ideas of having a successfull season after the recent poor season's because of the good signings we had made in the close season (down to whoever but certainly an input from Agar).
We all believed that we might have or certainly have a good chance of a cup run that was ended by a good performance from a Leeds side who "clicked" on the day.
We ended up sixth in the league on the final day of the season after what even I admit was less than I expected at the start but settled for as a reasonable position when most of us would have settled for being above our rivals from the east because yes we are a better team even if we do not always show it.
We did have a very poor play-off defeat but we were out-muscled and out-enthused by the better team on the night (even though it hurts me to say).
We were not far off from having a vastly improved year from previous failures even with key players missing or injured.
Our new players are few and far between this year so far but how many new signings did Wigan have last season ( and before I get shot down I know they replaced their coach).
We have the basis of a very good team that does not have much luck with injuries and as we have seen this year can play well and beat very good sides but not consistantly as the Saints and Leeds teams.
After all how long have we sang "you'll win F**K all again" to Leeds supporters in the past untill they seemed to find the right team.
Every team has era's and we need to take on board it is not ours yet but to me not to far away.

I have similar sentiments. But on this forum you aren't allowed to think positive. People need to get a grip.

Don't know whether to think good or bad! Good for Wakey, but only played the one game for Huds hasn't he?

You just been told this from an informed mate or what?

why blow our quota spot on a part time Aussie half back when we could get somebody from the championship for half the price if we are supposed to have one lined up for 2012 and then we could go after a quality Aussie centre on a two or three year deal now for 2011 to allow Sharp to shine and assist.
Look what Gidley and previously Lyons did for Gardner.

Because we got the quota spot late and quality aussies aren't out of contract and lined up ready to join. We'll have that in Berrigan however should he play next year.

personally i would rather leave the quota spot free rather than filling it just because we can.
I appreciate the visa process takes some time, but you never know who becomes available for one reason or another as the season progresses. If we keep the spot free, then it will put us in posistion 'a' to get the released player.

Are we looking at this Briggs from fev? or is it people supposedly in the know just assuming we are interested

If we are looking at Briggs I would hope it would be as a project and we sign a scrum half too, he's a talented lad but from what I've seen no means a playmaker, he has a couple of other good pivots at that level around him at Fev who take a lot of responsibility off him
so he can play his natural game, I don't think he would be able to give us what we need direction wise from stand off at Sl level, especially as we play with an extra front rower instead of a 13.

Ive heard from 2 different people now, neither really talk about signings but they said he could be the man coming in.

Wouldn't be too dissapointed with him, would prefer Briggs just on terms of his age and progression for seasons further then next.

We'll see then eh.

Is he predominantly a SO ? I've seen his name on the team sheet many times but I can't honestly say that I've noticed if he's any good or not.
