I would be happy with Steve McNamara, he was my 1st choice - done very well with a Catalan squad that isn’t too much different from ours.
Has just the right blend of been a ‘Hull’ lad and won’t have any loyalty to any player, well.... maybe his son.
Has experience managing big name players and their egos. Also someone Andy Last can learn from and hopefully could help bring his own career to the next level.

Previously, I totally wanted a new broom, now. I'm on the fence.
With the new team spirit, I'm not sure a new coach, might do more harm than good.
Also, as we are living in unprecedented times, maybe giving Last one season contract, maybe is the best financial decision we could make. Also, a more suitable target may become available, when this current situation has more clarity
As for McNamara, I'd rather give Last the job, Mac has had a talented squad, but in my opinion, Catalan, aren't close to Saints or Wigan .

Probably why, if a new appointment is true, everyone has already been informed.
Less than 2 weeks ago, we weren't even in the playoffs, so AP has made a bold decision.
Ages ago someone said Last didn't want the job and would revert back to Head of Youth, he's done a very good PR job since then saying how much he does want it.
Time to wait and see.

If AP has appointed a new coach then fair play to him. When it was rumoured we were in for Watson it looked like our season was done anyway. There would have been plenty of people kicking off if they never changed the playoffs & AP said he was waiting to see the end of the season before offering the job.

When Watson said he’d had a discussion with Hull, AP was intent on looking after his “Hull FC family”
I took this to mean the existing staff in place.
Maybe an incoming coach does so on the understanding that we don’t replace the support staff?
