| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"If he would come, don't think we could realistically get anyone better for next season. Problem is he'd want 2 years minimum and if we're targetting a top drawer overseas 7 for 2012, what would happen then?'"
I think the sooner we get the idea of a top drawer Aussie 7 out of our heads the better, we have been saying it since 2003 and it's always next year, it won't happen because we are not willing to spend the money, simple as, maybe that's sensible with the salary cap etc but it won't happen. We need a decent mid to long term option with a good kicking game, a solid 7 he can get us round the park.
As for Robinson I like him, maybe his kicking game just let's him down, but why would Hudds let us have one of there players who is contracted.

| Can't see Drew being there too much longer either due to his age so the chances of getting a 7 off them who can play as equally well at 9 and on a long term contract to boot also adding in his England call up increasing his value would seem rather remote indeed.
As quality 7s don't exactly grow on trees could we strike lucky somewhere with a young 9 and convert them like we did with Brough?

| Quote FC Wembley 08="FC Wembley 08"If you don't like it and aren't renewing your pass, why don't you go support Rovers who play amazing expansive rugby, don't get any injuries, have recruited excellently and have a scrum half and a coach who everyone loves..
Oh, and are amazingly successful!!
'"
I'm looking forward not back. Rovers did play better football than us at times last year and look to me as though they'll improve whilst I think we may well have peaked last year with this group of players unless all of the things I said in my previous post happen. If they do then we'll be ok , still unlikley to win anything but ok. If none or few of those things happen then we'll struggle , it'll be dour and will start to turn the fantastic momentum of support , shirt sales etc , we've had since moving to the KC in the other direction. I don't want to see that. I want my club to be successful. That's why I bother to state my views. If you think everything in the garden is rosey and perfect fair enough , I don't. More importantly I hope the club don't either.

| It would be nice to have a rumours thread with just rumours in it. A thread where people
state the player rumoured and their source and perhaps a bit of discussion about the merits of
signing the rumoured player. The bitchiness and arguing is tedious for those that just want to see
who we might be in for.

Brough was always a 7, it was Hull that played him at 9, and although it was only at national league 2 he was really tearing it up before we signed him, I don't think there is anyone in the lower leagues playing like he was, Briggs etc just don't have the same quality in my opinion, if we had to gamble with one I'd go for Moore though.

| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"Did think that - think you referenced we were looking at a big name half for 2012 - 6 or 7?'"
A top half is the target, could be a 6 or 7.

If you don't like it, don't read it, it's a discussion forum.

| I do not post on here very often but do read the thoughts and comments and I feel we all need to step back and take a look at what we had last season.
We all had big ideas of having a successfull season after the recent poor season's because of the good signings we had made in the close season (down to whoever but certainly an input from Agar).
We all believed that we might have or certainly have a good chance of a cup run that was ended by a good performance from a Leeds side who "clicked" on the day.
We ended up sixth in the league on the final day of the season after what even I admit was less than I expected at the start but settled for as a reasonable position when most of us would have settled for being above our rivals from the east because yes we are a better team even if we do not always show it.
We did have a very poor play-off defeat but we were out-muscled and out-enthused by the better team on the night (even though it hurts me to say).
We were not far off from having a vastly improved year from previous failures even with key players missing or injured.
Our new players are few and far between this year so far but how many new signings did Wigan have last season ( and before I get shot down I know they replaced their coach).
We have the basis of a very good team that does not have much luck with injuries and as we have seen this year can play well and beat very good sides but not consistantly as the Saints and Leeds teams.
After all how long have we sang "you'll win F**K all again" to Leeds supporters in the past untill they seemed to find the right team.
Every team has era's and we need to take on board it is not ours yet but to me not to far away.

I have similar sentiments. But on this forum you aren't allowed to think positive. People need to get a grip.
