The facts. As represented by OPTA stats.
I realise that you'll be incapable of giving him any credit so you might just want to duck out of this conversation to avoid embarrassment.

| Quote: Kosh "He's never been terrific in defence, no. But that wasn't your original point. You said he'd been 'crap' for a few seasons when in fact his missed tackle and error count has been fairly consistent going back to when he was playing for GB and winning club awards.'"
His missed tackle count and error count have been consistently awful going back seasons. Stats prove that.
Whether he was picked for GB or won club awards doesn't alter the stats you were so keen to highlight.
Plus certain stats can tell a confusing story. e.g. if a player drops 20% of passes but only receives 5 passes a game then his error count will be 1. But if he receives 15 passes a game the error count will be 3. Now it is well known that we used our left side attack (Manu, Yeaman & Briscoe) more than our right so Tickle didn't see so much of the ball.
Hence less errors in previous seasons and hence my main criticism of him been his missed tackles (or pathetic attempts at tackles).

I'd give credit where due but mcdonnel is average and given another off season shaul will offer more.
As for 2nd best full back in the league regardless of stats I'd take hardaker, grix, lomax, tomkins, hodgeson and hanbury all before him and regardless of his faults I wouldn't swap eden for him either. Apologies if ive missed any other better fullback out.

Oh well - I did offer you the opportunity. Now you've gone and made yourself look daft.

I've had a think and you're right, mcdonnel is better than tomkins and hardaker, my bad.

| I love it when people ignore the facts. Funny.
Im sorry to say Yeamo is done. Cudjoe made him look like a mug, highlighting all the poor areas of his game. Arundel offers a lot more now and should get a starting centre spot next season.

| Arundel impressed as the season wore on, but I would like us to sign a good centre and have as Arundel as cover. Think Johnson is an ok cover guy but ain't first choice or we have got problems. I don't think the squad is that bad, except we really need an experienced leader in the halves, Holdsworth has been disappointing and Miller is still raw. I think if we are playing these two at six and seven again next year we are in for a long year of poor attack yet again.
What are people's thoughts on the young ones stepping in next season if we don't sign another prop, are Green and Bowden up to the task of being starters?
As many have said our recruitment has been pretty poor with four of last years six acquired men being little more than squad players. Think Paea is a great signing but defo think we need a lot more grunt in the pack.

I'd stop digging if I were you. You're that deep it'll get uncomfortably hot any minute.

| Starting line up looking like: mcdonnel, lineham, crooks, yeaman(arundel close), crookes/shaul, holdsworth/horne, miller, watts, houghton, paea, ellis, mika, westerman/whiting. Not a bad line up at all.

If you get Mika, he has to be loose forward with Westerman in the second row, Mika gets caught out defending out wide, but looked far more comfortable in the middle.
