I think the chance of losing pass sales will have contributed to that press statement and also the deep loathing of the guy amongst the FC royalty probably had a lot to do with it also...

I actually admire Rule for not opening the statement with 'Why can you not all just get it through your thick skulls...'
Have they ever released a written statement on it before? He'd have been within his rights to just change the date.
I guess the Bailey rumour came to nothing too. Is it just a case of think of the worst possible scenario and that anything better is a bonus? |

I've got a lot of respect for Rule over the way he has handled this. However its a shame he felt forced to make the statement purely in order to placate the gullible and weak-willed who will believe anything they read on the internet.
Now that we know this former player is never coming back, perhaps we can stop talking about him?

Yes and so much that ive nearly p155ed myself.
What a fool that guy has been and still continues to be. Im not saying that all would be forgotten but why cant he just hold his hands up and say sorry i made a big mistake, i loved it at FC and i was a complete fool. It wouldnt mean we'd take him back but some people might just gain a teeny weeny little bit more respect for him.

it could happen though,if he accepted a low salary? york managed to get thorman,by getting him work in the community,and at york college,along with extra help from a sponsor.
