Giving a new contract to one of Dowes/Radford isn't the end of the world as long as we have a quality prop to come in (like Fielden) but if we re-sign both of them, it will be a sign that we are quite happy to challenge for top 6 and stay were we are without actually having much chance of silverware.

Dowes is not good enough and I would rather go with what we've got and keep looking into the season 2011 than give him an extension almost by default.

Oh for gods sake some people really spout bollox. Lack of ambition? So trying to sing the likes of LMS, Fielden and Westerman is a lack of ambition is it. You can't always get what you want.

I always saw this offseason as a consolidation period and expect a much bigger off season next year. For a start we have no overseas spots and have no big earners leaving. Two or three shrew signings this year along with a couple of big ones for next year aswell as young players maturing and I will be happy.

Last years recruitment was a step in the right direction to correct the situation..
