I think the sooner we get the idea of a top drawer Aussie 7 out of our heads the better, we have been saying it since 2003 and it's always next year, it won't happen because we are not willing to spend the money, simple as, maybe that's sensible with the salary cap etc but it won't happen. We need a decent mid to long term option with a good kicking game, a solid 7 he can get us round the park.

As for Robinson I like him, maybe his kicking game just let's him down, but why would Hudds let us have one of there players who is contracted.

Can't see Drew being there too much longer either due to his age so the chances of getting a 7 off them who can play as equally well at 9 and on a long term contract to boot also adding in his England call up increasing his value would seem rather remote indeed.
As quality 7s don't exactly grow on trees could we strike lucky somewhere with a young 9 and convert them like we did with Brough?

It would be nice to have a rumours thread with just rumours in it. A thread where people
state the player rumoured and their source and perhaps a bit of discussion about the merits of
signing the rumoured player. The bitchiness and arguing is tedious for those that just want to see
who we might be in for.

Brough was always a 7, it was Hull that played him at 9, and although it was only at national league 2 he was really tearing it up before we signed him, I don't think there is anyone in the lower leagues playing like he was, Briggs etc just don't have the same quality in my opinion, if we had to gamble with one I'd go for Moore though.

A top half is the target, could be a 6 or 7.
