| Given the unprecedented times and how Lastys stock is rising would it be a wise option to keep as interim for next season, then we will see if he can cut it ?
The team had dramatically improved playing to game plans, more then one play, attitude to defending and more importantly playing with a smile on the face. Team spirit and pride has being the best it has for a long while. When you take into account this has being achieved under staggered group training sessions, multiple covid isolations and no real time between games you have to tip your hat to him.
I'm far from saying he is ready but a sensible option to let him have next season as he is under contract anyway, given our other targets don't seem an option at the moment. Just a thought, I'd be renewing anyway regardless who hesd coach is the survival of the club is my main priority.

Good post well said, It is going to be a season short on cash and crowds and he's done so well so far I I would give him a one year contract as Coach I think!

| It’s a dilemma for AP that’s for sure. It’s quite clear that despite limited time with the players and time on the training ground AL, KP & GE have managed to galvanise a bunch of players in to a team. We have also seen a big reduction in the daft/unforced errors and dumb penalties, granted they aren’t totally eradicated but huge improvement that we all have been calling for. Players as individuals have also seemingly upped their game, are performing and doing the little things far better.
For me there are now a few questions
1. What would be achieved by bringing in a Coach from outside in the short to long term?
2. How would that impact on the togetherness the team now have?
3. Would a new coach do any better than the current coaches?
4. Would bringing a new coach be to appease fans more than for the team?
I think AL has shown enough that he can actually take us forward and think he’s earned the chance to take the team on next year.
What seems very clear to me is AL is very open to listen to input from others and take on board & implement ideas from others. He also seems to have good man management within the team and that shows in the players.
Initially I was sure we needed new blood but think AL with the help of KP & GE have maybe shown we have a guy who can coach this team and get the best from them.
That is ultimately what we as fans have been asking for.

| Yes I have to say that I was convinced we needed a fresh start on the coaching front but after the shaky start with Covid issues and a tonking by Salford things are working very well right now. I'd be happy for Last to get a one year deal.

Well I touched up on that previously in this thread, I would hope people realise the current setup has given us a reason to be cheerful.

| mmmm well if that is based on any sort of premise rather than just a hope, then after last night I would say that he has been favourite for me for a while, but I really think that Lasty is in the box seat now.

You may be right but your assumption is based on what exactly?
Given the choice between Last and Mcnamara I think I'd prefer to stick with Andy.

| Makes sense in many ways, but:
Can really feel a groundswell of support for Lasty though now. He’s done well to turn it round.
He’s made it difficult for AP. Is Macca the total fresh outlook people say we need?
