| Every time Ive seen him always seems to general the pack and I like his support play is very much like Briscoe(Shaun).
He'd look good in our colours, what with him been lined up for internationals, barring setbacks.

| Is there any chance that we could go for MYLER at Northampton Saints in RU.?
Another proven quality half back from the Myler Dynasty. He will soon be resting for the summer. Just a thought.

I agree, this kid is so overhyped it's unbelievable, just like Burgess at Bradford. I blame Eddie and Stevo for the OTT praise for the lad.
He is a good support player and reminds me of McGuire but he does not control games and dictate play from what I have seen. I don't think he would help us at all right now.

| I dont think Myler is the answer. He is very overhyped, similiar to how Luke Robinson was after a handful of Wigan apperances a few years back. Eddie and Stevo start ranting on about how good these kids are, when in actual fact, they are pretty ordinairy.
Tim Smith would make a good short term addition to out team. With him declaring that he wants to go back to aus at the end of the year, maybe Noble might resign to getting rid of him now and persevering with young tompkins?
I would take him on a short term deal until the end of the season if this were the case.
in the long term, Orford would be an obvious choice.
Craig Wing is another name mentioned, but to me, he isnt the type of player we need in the halfs.
One player I would have liked Hull to go for one or two seasons ago is Brett Firman. I always thought he had the skills to become a great SH, but now he's probably too far gone, playing park footy in the Jim Beam Cup.

Could be your answer if Hudds get Brough as rumoured.

I think he's very overhyped [inow[/i. But he's only 18. He's a similar sort of player to Tom Briscoe in that he's far from the finished article, but he looks like he'll be a very good player in 2 or 3 years time. By which point he'll be good for another 10-12 years at the top level.

Potential is all well and good but it does not always materialise, in 2/3 years time he could be just another average SH. Right now we need a proven SH and Myler is not what we need.

I'd say that depends very much on who his half back partner would be. If we're going to sign a world class six to play alongside him who can help him develop his game, then it's a very good idea to sign him.
Top overseas players rarely join clubs for 6, 8 or 10 years. If we can sign a promising half back now (as Saints did with Long, for example), and invest in his development for a couple of years, we could have the position sorted for the next decade. Surely that's worth a try.

I understand that point of view but my point is he may not turn in to the player people think he could be. Not all young players with potential end up fulfilling it and right now we need to concentrate on bringing in a proven SH. Myler would not come cheap, you would have to pay 'proven player' money for him which could en up being a mistake.

Ok lets say he will be in 2/3 years time. How do we sign him now? He won't leave Salford unless its for a big money deal, do we pay him more than he is worth on the basis he will be that good in 2/3 years. If we don't then another club will. If we do and win the race to sign him then what happens if he does not turn into this world class player people think he will be?
