| I thought Hock was poor on Friday, plus we'd have to book a regular trip to Red Hall. No thanks

Don't get what people are thinking when they say they wouldn't take rangi chase cos he has mad moments, lots of top players have it in them.
Probably gonna finish with most try assists for 4th yr running.
Is the league's top off loader
Is near the very top tackle buster
Is near the top for carries
His around stats are ridiculous. All from a team that's been dire barring 1season the entire time he's been there.
I watch brough, sinfield, and most halfs, when their teams getting hammered their no where to be seen usually. Rangi is always the foremost player for cas.
I'd have chase every day of the week-including bank holidays, has mad moments but his good out weigh the bad for me.
Tupou would be a good 1, would be happy with that.must have a few quid spare.

agreed, BUT..id say, when he was at wigan, the team had the majority of possesion, hence hiim not being as indisciplined as he is now at widnes, that and alot of frustration at how cack they are might make his beheviour seem nmore erratic,...
you cant doubt the guys skills etc, fast, strong, hard as nails, great hands...everything we need right now IMO

I don't think that many would argue that at their respective bests Hock is the better player, but the problem is how often a player performs at or near his best. Tickle is a good, not great, 2nd rower but consistently plays at decent, somewhat above average level, plus of course he's a very good goal kicker. Further he has a decent disciplinary record and seems to conduct his business in a professional manner. Hock is a terrific athlete with good handling skills, unfortunately he is also a complete tool - poor discipline, plenty of off the field issues and apparently about as honest as Hudgell judging by the number of promises he's broken. I can't imagine him being good for team morale - that Wigan are keen to get rid but at the same time want their pound of flesh says an awful lot.
Both players are getting on (Tickle is a few months older) but I would suspect Tickle's greater professionalism will see him have a longer career. In terms of current and future value I would take Tickle because a player, no matter how good he can play, contributes nothing from the stands. Widnes have probably got it right.

Pretty much sums it up for me, players like Hock and Chase are not team players, they are only out for themselves, I've seen a much more galvanised and "together" FC in recent times and that is because they are all playing for each other, we don't need a prima donna coming in and ruining that.
