I don't know what you were really expecting, the cap has clearly been massively mismanaged over a long period of time, it's going to take a few years to get the balance right.

Myler was never going to just come in, snap his fingers and sign top players out of the blue and players coming over from Lancs way are going to want more than just a year, a comparison would be Sutcliffe who I'd imagine was on a decent wage being replaced by Hardaker who's more than likely not going to be but we won't lose anything ability wise and can utilise more cap elsewhere.

By the time Myler and any sort of money came in most of the sought after players had already signed for other clubs meaning we have had to go with steady players to try and stop the rot.

We're starting from the bottom and need to steadily build upwards, players like Chamberlain, Hardaker, Holmes etc... will do that and allow our youth to progress without immense pressure. Myler and Cartwright will get it right but will need time and patience.
