If you're going to have a workhorse in your pack, it should be one of the quality of Cusack rather than one of Radford's standard, I reckon.

Radfords standard is better than most.

I don't have a problem with Radford as a journeyman SL player, but I do have a problem with him as Captain, but that wasn't his decision anyway.

I guess im putting his captaining to one side, i think his performances as a workhorse forward are better than most.

We'll have to agree to differ. Whilst we're clearing out the deadwood, he should be somewhere near the top of the list, IMO. Works hard in defence, but offers literally nothing in attack. If we were to keep him as emergency cover for injuries on a relatively low salary, then fair enough. The fact is, he's club captain and, as such, probably one of our higher earners.

Ive been doing that when concering Radders on here for some time now!!

Agree next year looks a more proffessional pack, hopefully they will get the discipline sorted between themselves with a few strong words and actions iff people arn't pulling there weight, unlike this year when booze and lack of committment to the cause punished us.
Still think Dowes can do a job for us with better pros along side him

I really dont like the look of that starting backrow as Fitz and Radford are far too similar as they are both basically props playing at 13 for Roosters and us. Would much rather see Burnett or Manu starting.

I know you are a big fan of Radford but i really hope there isnt a place for him in our 17 next season.

i've slated Radford for the last few years because I think he's slow, uninspiring and 1 dimensional

but fair play to him for actually coming out with some proper comment about our plight, and not the usual "grade A license" "we can turn it round" "these week we'll do it" garbage that they've tried to fob us off with for months

I think they are exactly what we need tbf. A strong platform for our backs to do the damage. With O'Meley, Lauaki and Manu i think we have a enough grunt and Washy would bring extra creativity. Fitz and Radders can punch holes if they get good enough service as has been proven.

I have never heard Radford described as somebody who can 'punch holes'.

The fact of the matter is our current back 3 dont have the energy in Manu and Tickles case or athleticism in Radfords, to run any option lines to open up space on the flank for our backs.

The only forward we have who runs great lines and works off the ball is Mike Burnett.

I have seen Radford on several occasions ghost through gaps by running a good line to score a try, if he gets the right half back to give him the ball. If he is used as a 2nd row he can, if he is used down the middle as a prop he wont.
