| Quote David Watts="David Watts"I agree mate - some Leeds fans are not happy with their coach, nor Bradford with theirs. Warrington are still near the bottom, which is where Catalans were a few weeks ago. Wigan are still four points below us despite playing one game more.
Let's get things in perspective (difficult for some people on here, I know) - yes, we are playing poorly at the minute, but so are a lot of other teams. We need to get off his back and see how he copes with this run of poor results - that will determine how good he and the rest of the coaching set up really are.'"
The idea of accepting our own mediocrity due to the fact other teams are playing poorly is a very weak arguement. We have played poorly ever since Agar took over. Even when we were winning our first five games, we barely played with consistancy. We could have easily lost against Wigan, Hudds and Celtic. There are tons of problems with the team, which is down to both players and the coaching set up. I want a new coaching set up and I want them to get the players to either shape up or not give them new contracts until they do, thus meaning crap players will eventually leave. If there wasn't a salary cap and we had the money, I would have backed any new coach to release players

| I agree that Agar has got to be given time; it wasnt that long ago people were hailing him as one of the best british coaches after the start we made to the season
hopeful he can turn it around but if he doesnt i don't want to see jon sharp taking over. The right man has got to be Stephen Keareny with Richard Swain as his assitant -
you can always have a dream

| Don't know why Swain's name keeps coming up in all this speculation about a potential new coach. After his supposed involvement in the whole Kear situation, I don't think I'd want him back at the club.

| If we played to any sort of gameplan, or looked capable of playing the game at pace, or had movement off the ball to cause uncertainty in defence, or played with width, hell, if we even looked like the players saw each other between games, then I'd be prepared to give agar a chance. But we don't, we haven't since mcrae left. agar has learnt his trade under 2 "failed" coaches and it shows on the pitch. Time is running out for the club. People's patience will disappear this year with no wembley appearance and crowds will start to fall. The club cannot allow the decline to continue and must act IMO

Good post Jake.
Some of our interchange decisions have been beyond belief at times.
Sadly, Agar is not the right man to lead our club. We deserve better!
Stephen Keareny with his discipline would do for me please.

There's lots of things I disagree with about Hull FC at the moment. However, getting shut of the coaching set up and all the "crap" players that have been identified on here, as well as Kath Hetherington et al is simply not going to happen.
The reality is, like it or not, that Agar is the current coach. He is in charge of a team that are currently playing poorly, as are many other coaches. If he turns it around in the next few games then it will show he may be the right choice (only long term success will determine that). If not then throw him on the scrapheap never to be heard of again (like we did with two of our last three coaches )

| Some of the anti-Kear comments on these threads are confusing me a little. He's a good coach - you only have to look at how his team are currently doing to see that. If we'd have given him more time and got rid of the players who were instrumental in his departure, I believe we'd be seeing the benefits now.

I agree mate - I think we got rid too quickly. If player/s were actually undermining him then they should have been kicked out, as they should be now if it is still going on (TBF I've seen no evidence of that).

He's a decent coach - not as bad as some make out and not as good as others claim. Remember that our league form was poor in 2005 before all the alleged 'player power' shenanigans started in 2006.
I'm not so sure that we'd have seen the benefits TBH. He was hardly faultless in the events that lead to his departure, and it may be that what he went through has modified some of the behaviour that contributed to his downfall.
In other words, he wouldn't be the coach he is now if he had stayed at Hull.

| me personally think agar should be given more time yet, however if hull do replace him the new coach is going to have to be in the brian smith mode, its not going to be easy to turn/motivate a bunch of mostly average at best players into a top super league side, for me hull over achieved in the first 5 games and now normal service has been resumed, not much difference to last season.
p.s. anyone know what phil sigsworth is doing at the mo!!?
