On a positive note - the numbers of forwards we now have SHOULD ensure players aren't over played or play carrying injuries. A fit Westerman is effectively a new signing who really adds an attacking threat. Masi & Fash will be better for the experience, Bietnik will be a monster but not straightaway. Leroy, Danny, Jordan etc. all will contribute.

Only 8 subs will definitely support mobile forwards who play big minutes. Ikahifo great player but just can't see why he would be a priority at the moment.

As ever the halves will dictate success or otherwise, if our 3 are & remain fit then another big season for us !!

Masi set for a big season in my opinion
Problem is until Bowden and Green are both back and match fit we will struggle again at prop.
Fash works hard but just doesnt have the size to become a top Super league player.Dont see much first team game time for him.
Surprise package could be Danny Langtree

How big is Fash? Paul Gallen at 5'9'' 14 stone doesn't seem to have done to badly !

According to this profile, Gallen is around 5’11’’ and little under 16 stone.

https://www.sharks.com.au/teams/telstra ... ul-gallen/

Fash is about an inch shorter and over a stone lighter.

https://www.hullfc.com/team/first-team/brad-fash

Jamie Shaul is around the size you mention, roughly.

FWIW, I wouldn’t write Fash off. He does lack a bit in size for prop or even a modern 13. But perhaps he can compensate for that in other ways.

Wouldn't write him off but do think he is up against it !! The modern game rewards REALLY big men such as Masi, he needs to show something different like footwork to miss the first defender OR good hands or the Ability to bend someone when he tackles - not seen much evidence of any of that. Masi & others just take so much more holding, draw defenders & often get quick (ish) PTB's or penalties. Not seeing that any of the other young forwards wxcel yet but do think they have an advantage in size.
FWIW think the likes of Turgut & Downs also sufferred just through lack of size, decent players but a stone heavier & a couple more inches would have made it so much easier for them.

Masi needs some aggression . He is a late starter in the game and will only get better.

One last transfer line for 2018. Understand that Hull FC are considering a move for North Queensland centre Javid Bowen. By no means a done deal but something the Black and Whites are plotting. More in @leagueexpress.
