Makes his signing even more strange.'"
Swift was signed before Fonua became available.
Good to see the club making statement of intent rather than the usual, we’ll go with what we have.

I can't see that. Ratu's shown more in 10 games than Swift has in his entire career.

Swift is a very good player and very quick. I reckon his experience will get him the nod.

| Fonua and his family where a few years younger previously. They'll of missed the safety net of their families and did probably feel homesick so went back home. Once home they may of suddenly found themselves strangely missing the UK too and realised they actually liked it here. I have no worries about how he and his family will settle back in

I think his pace is way over hyped. Nowhere near as quick as Ratu. I like his effort and enthusiasm but I don't see a single aspect of his game that is equal to Ratu's other than having experience.

| Have we had many rounds yet where we've been able to pick our first choice three quarters? For starters Carlos has been out for months, as was Talanoa before that.

| Seriously delighted about this. When i watched Ratu at Doncaster pre season i was hoping we'd sign him. We did and he's let no one down, in fact he's been a revelation. Mahe had become my favourite FC player by the time he left and earlier this season as i watched Ratu score those blistering 80 metre tries [ 100 v Cats ! ] i was as happy as anyone but inside a part of me was wishing we had the power of Mahe Fonua to go with the pace of Ratu Naulogo on either side. Then to hear this news first in rumour then confirmed, well i'm still on a high. Hope it doesn't mean someones leaving. My first choice backline Shaul,Naulogo,Connor,Griffin,Fonua but as someone said it could be Griffin [ who i think has been great this season ] to second row with Faraimo in the backs. Either way its got to be a win win. Radford out ???Yeah right.

He's not a very good player. He got dropped for a young kid at saints because he regularly makes stupid errors. he's barely played a first team game since holbrook took over

| Quote: Raggytash "He left for a quite obvious combination of factors. Every antipodean would rather play in the premier RL competition, surrounded by their family. He got a chance of a contract and took it, like 99% of antipodeans playing in this Country would. He's now been offered a big 3 year deal, which gives him long term security for his young family. He would only get a 1 year deal in the NRL and possibly on less money. Whatever you're attempting to imply is irrelevant because out of all the SL clubs that wanted him, he chose to come back to us. Much to the delight of most of our fans.'"
So he’s a mercenary then

You're right, a professional sportsman accepting the most lucrative contract after being told he'd be a free agent.
I know crazy isn't it
You may not be a Hull fan but this in my opinion is a real coup for Hull and for SL.
A player with the real X factor playing in our competition.
I'm chuffed to bits and that is putting it mildly.
Well done to Adam and Lee for pulling this 1 off

In the way that every single top line RL player is, yes.

I dont think so he is the most exciting back we have had for years

It also helps when the player clearly loves the club and the fact that Radford, several of the players and some fans have kept in touch with Mahe

| I will hold my hand up and say I thought we had moved on when Mahe was mentioned on another thread. Have come to realise that I am quite excited about him re signing, so I have proved myself wrong.

Prior to his foot injury at Wests Tigers Maguire was playing him at centre. Interesting to see where Radford plays him.
