Did Noble choose to pay a transfer fee for Fieldon? The coaches don't operate in isolation from the finances, it would be impossible to do so.

He did, however transfer fee's dont count on the cap. Also I presume a coach says to the board, I want to bring in XXXX can we do that. Negotiations happen and the boards sort out the transfers/finer details.

IF!!!! Noble put a gun to the chairmans head over the Fielden signing then he is accountable for the salary cap breach. If he didn't then the Board/Chairman/Cheif accountant is responsible for not picking up the overspend.

I think the fact is they knew that they were going to overspend that season and did so quite deliberately knowing that any points deduction they suffered would be the next season as the cap wasn't live at that time and it was therefore depending which way you look at it a calculated risk to breach it, or blatant cheating, either way in a season when it looked like they may be relegated they stayed up and the rest as they say is history!!

| Dont think Noble can be blamed, the board decide how much a players wages will be.
McRae will go before Agar - seems Rule likes him around. He should of gone last time round.

He kept Wigan in the league, which of course we're eternally grateful for. He also apparently had a big hand in the current academy set up.
However, on the pitch though it was AWFUL to watch. Five drives and a kick. You need a BIG pack for his system to really work.
It's night and day to the stuff Maguire has us playing. That said he'd be a massive upgrade over Agar.

No question about it whatsoever! Noble would improve results but I still cant see Agar going just yet.

| same old Hull faithful it seems - blame the coach
once again you were outplayed in all departments by a superior side - can't just one of you give Leeds some credit, they produced a great display.Despite Sinfield kicking like an old woman.
Agar may not be the man for the job but give the credit where it's due.

just admit you were beaten by the better side and not bleat about the coach week in week out that's all - it's called 'sportsmanship' or doesn't that exist in your part of the universe ? (well,it never did anyway in the old 'threepenny stand' did it ?)
btw - I am not a Leeds fan
