Sutton would be a gamble but one well worth taking, there's not that many players of his ability available.

Agree and surely paying for a thorough medical reduces risk, he can go and see our new conditining consutant in Manly too

I would view Sutton as a statement signing rather than a gamble.

He won't be cheap but is off quota, young enough to still have his best years in front of him too.

These type of players will definitely improve us, would be great to show we can compete for such as well.

Sutton rumour come from a random post, however the Bulldogs Kennel Forum also say he is SL bound (albeit Catalans the team mentioned).

Seems odd that Cust is seemingly the one signing that we’ve held back on announcing, don’t know if the delay has been with us or at the Salford end but I assume we’ll announce it tonight or sometime soon as I’ve just seen that Salford have publicly thanked him for his efforts at the club.

Just the front rower now and it looks like the squad is complete. Hope we get someone suitable sorted soon but must admit will make for a boring off season if all our business is done already.

I understand that the club wanted to get recruitment done early, but with the 'reported' players now being made available to SL clubs, it seems we may be missing out on some 'better' targets. I would still be looking for another outside back - Connor Wrench or someone like that

I've been very doom and gloom about the club but in fainess had they not made signings it would have been a risk and people would be saying 'passes now on sale but few or no signings made so it wont be any different next year'

Its a tricky one to get right isn't it , I do agree we may have jumped to early with recruitment seeing what's becoming available potentially to SL .
Flip side is jumping in to late and missing out on every possible target .

Personally I think the club wasn't in the position to wait and see who might become available given the situation we have found ourselves in. They had to act and they have. Perhaps this time next year we'll be able to keep our powder dry for longer but not this year. I think the club have done the right thing this time around.
