Last week people were moaning the RFL were taking too long with the due diligence checks, this week they're moaning they didn't do proper due diligence texts, as incompetent as the RFL are, they can't win at times.Batchelor is a brilliant signing, just what we need, and a massive upgrade on lane. If Batchelor can regain his early form he had at Saints and under Cartwright i have no doubt he will, then thats what i mean about signing quality.Need to start moving on finding a couple of centres and a running half.I can see Cust moving to nine and Balmforth interchanging between nine and 13 if we get that running halfback we need

And now Salford have named a competitive squad of 17 for Friday...the mystery continues!! To be fair, they're not paying anyone so likely to be well under the £1.2m limit imposed by the rofl

| I don;t think we should be using 2 quota spots on bell and cust. We need a quality centre and half back if batch has signed and should either use it on a 6 or a centre

| Pleased with the Batchelor, definitely an upgrade on where we are now, hopefully we're targeting more of the same calibre of player for next season.

| Great signing I'm really pleased with that. He is just what we need and an upgrade on Lane and although quality players for next year are thin on the ground he's a great English signing. Most importantly it shows our new owners ambition and with a long contract it also shows we can splash the cash when we need to. For too long we have all known on here and on the terraces exactly where our weaknesses are and yet our owner and Chief Executive didn't seem to get it at all. This signing meets a big need we have all recognised. He will also, along with Asiata and Co, be a good lure for other class players to a club that was just 12 months ago definitely seen as unfashionable, and to prize him away from Saints, well that's super business and shows our Chief Executives ability to recognise need, identify opportunities and then get his man. It's going to be a long haul but three or so more of that calibre and the foundations will be in place for another step forward in 2026.

| Blackandwhitebigdog:James Bell comes off quota next year with the new ruling therefore we still have a quota space open Isn’t it 6 consecutive SL seasons to be off quota? 2020 he played for Toulouse in the Championship so he’d only be on 5.

| Good signing is Batchelor. Bigger and better than Lane. Just need to hope he stays fit. 3 or 4 more of similar standard and we’ll be in a lot better shape.

| As it stands and the rules are as rumored (not sure how official that are), but he would count as a non fed player, as you have to have played for 6 consecutive years in SL. These rules might change, but if they don't think it would be a big mistake to use it on a utility bench forward whose main position is LF. If he is off quota, then it's a different story, although really not a fan of this rule though, will just mean clubs have more quota players and less players coming through.

Teams could have quite easily end up with 10 or more overseas players from next season.
