| Steve0:And now Salford have named a competitive squad of 17 for Friday...the mystery continues!! Aaron Bower reporting that the RFL have given Salford dispensation to name 5 different players from the original cap side that played Midlands Hurricanes in the cup because of injuries and suspensions, so the likes of Sneyd and Watkins have been added. He also says Salford look to have convinced the players that they will actually be paid so they’re open to playing Friday, maybe not the walk over people expected for Cas. |

On to the signing of Batchelor, think this is a great signing and hopefully shows the signs that the club with new owners and a well respected Head Coach is back to being an attractive club to sign for. Not taking anything away from Jordan Lane but Batchelor is certainly an upgrade for 2026.Look forward to more signings of that ilk to come.Also think its fair to say Myler deserves credit to as the DoR and CEO getting this signing done. Spot on.

James Bell is also another Saints player we’re interested in I like him but he'd take up our last quota spot. Not sure it'd be wise to sign him when we have Asiata as our 13 Plus it wouldnt surprise me to see Balmforth move to 13 in coming seasons |

Last week people were moaning the RFL were taking too long with the due diligence checks, this week they're moaning they didn't do proper due diligence texts, as incompetent as the RFL are, they can't win at times.Batchelor is a brilliant signing, just what we need, and a massive upgrade on lane. If Batchelor can regain his early form he had at Saints and under Cartwright i have no doubt he will, then thats what i mean about signing quality.Need to start moving on finding a couple of centres and a running half.I can see Cust moving to nine and Balmforth interchanging between nine and 13 if we get that running halfback we need |

I don;t think we should be using 2 quota spots on bell and cust. We need a quality centre and half back if batch has signed and should either use it on a 6 or a centre
