| dandaman:Sections reinstated on them again now officially, only allowed 1.2mill on the cap again. This is going to end in tears for salford and rugby league It makes a farce of the whole competition. Teams are at a real advantage playing them with a reduced salary cap (e.g. St Helens in round 1). What if, come the end of the season, points difference dictates who makes the top 6 and who doesn't? (Not suggesting that may be us incidentally!)

They'll be taking on Salford's kids this weekend. Makes a mockery of the league.

| The whole situation with Salford is way beyond a joke now. The whole 2025 season now has little to no integrity due to the gaping chasm in teams playing Salford under sanction than later if or when sanction are removed. It’s got to the point already where every teams results including the for & against in scores against Salford do not count come the end of the season similar to when Toronto folded. If the RFL do not do this then how can the final league positions have any credence or legitimacy and how do you say who is justified in being in the top 6 if it’s a close run thing? Surely along with sanctions Salford should now face a significant pts deduction. I don’t think their lack of honesty, accountability or communication is or has done them any favours either. If I were a Salford player that had an offer but weren’t allowed to leave previously I’d be pretty disgruntled to say the least.

| Salford must be sailing close to the wind with them been in breach of contract with the players.. Sounds like the players have had enough. Hopefully we're talking to some of the agents.

| Last week people were moaning the RFL were taking too long with the due diligence checks, this week they're moaning they didn't do proper due diligence texts, as incompetent as the RFL are, they can't win at times. Batchelor is a brilliant signing, just what we need, and a massive upgrade on lane.

| Jake the Peg:Surely the rfl do some due diligence on prospective club owners? I thought this new owner was some mega rich Swiss banker? Where's the money? I don’t know about mega rich, there seems to be little to absolutely no information about him about him available, or the other named guy who was named in the consortium and as a shareholder alongside Krisnan Inu. According to one of the journalists the figure of about 2.5 million needs to land in the Salford bank account to pay various debts, wages and offer assurances for the future to lift the sanctions so it would have to be someone with deep pretty deep pockets to lay that out, can’t see it myself hence the seemingly stalling tactics from whoever is running things.

Batchelor is a brilliant signing, just what we need, and a massive upgrade on lane. TBF think it was mainly Salford as a club and some of their fans complaining about it the time the RFL were taking, think most people feel the RFL probably didn't go tough enough. We know ourselves that the checks take a while when AP sold to AT & DH. Think the only think the RFL are guilty of is not spotting the issue along with IMG whilst doing all the auditing for the Grading etc. As Pete said the timing of Salford announcing the financial situation so soon after the grades were awarded seemed more than a coincidence. On to the signing of Batchelor, think this is a great signing and hopefully shows the signs that the club with new owners and a well respected Head Coach is back to being an attractive club to sign for. Not taking anything away from Jordan Lane but Batchelor is certainly an upgrade for 2026. Look forward to more signings of that ilk to come. Also think its fair to say Myler deserves credit to as the DoR and CEO getting this signing done.
