Wakefield and bowden are in the championship "word removed, can we play nicely please"

We will be considerably bigger, younger and arguably faster next season. Off the back of that I’d expect to see our 2nd row look much better.
The likes of jebson severs Staveley aren’t exactly small either.
Can’t see why we won’t be in the top 6.
Expectations are high with the dobbins
I personally think they will struggle.
They’ve lost key leaders. Absolutely got battered in the semi by wigan.
Think they and Leigh did well on the back of saints Leeds wire giants having such a poor season.
First time in a few years that I’m looking forward to seeing our new look team.'"
Problem is these new signings in the pack are replacing our best players in the pack ( Taylor, satae, Griffin and Savelio )
Our 2 best players in swift and Clifford haven't been replaced

Keeping one of those would have made made our recruitment so much easier.
In my opinion we have only replaced one with Okunbor.
Ashworth can play SR but is now far more effective as a prop.
Unless we can bring someone else of quality in our back row is very weak.

With regards to Griffin & Savelio I'm still struggling to see the logic in not retaining one of them unless it has and is simply down to attitudes. I could understand it a little more if we were stacked with quality in the back row or didn't have so much work to do in terms of recruitment. As you say our back row is still pretty weak and I'd say probably a little more so than before and keeping one of Griffin or Savelio would for me have helped resolve that.

| I'm not in the know but j would guess it's attitude problems. Griffin is the one I'd like to have kept but hey ho. Savillio was injured a lot and did seem to disappear in matches. Class on his day though. Taylor gave his all but IMo his body was saying enough. Satae was a beast but again went missing and just didn't do enough. I think where stronger. Younger players coming in replacing players over 30

Good post,
Was Savelio value for money, played about 50 games in 50 seasons.
There is a reason Taylor retired, he must have known his body has gone.
Satae was far too inconsistent, had one brilliant game and then 5 average one's, was a bit lazy too, in both attack and defence.
I'd have kept Griffin for a year, but something obviously went on.
Swift is a massive loss, but it took him 2 seasons to hit too form.

| Would guess Smith and Griffin had a bust up over his red card. Was in good form then a few weeks after he'd gone

Wasn't a contract offered but withdrawn after his red card?

For me short term pain to make a point for long term gain. Griffin let the team down at a key point of a winnable CC game that could have changed our season, and it wasn't the first time, he was also sin binned in the previous round.
He was playing well and would have been good to have for 2024 but let's not kid ourselves that he was one for the future, we'd seen his best days already.

Wasn't he binned for mouthing off to the ref for a hat trick try and it was deffo a try against cas ( just looked it up on YouTube now )
Should be allowed to mouth off when you know the ref is wrong
And imo last season apart from Clifford and swift was our best player
