I agree with Ullfc on Powell, he's been fantastic, but he has a long deal at Cas I believe and would not be cheap. That's assuming he'd want to come.

Who else is out there that's available, I'm not sure. Bringing in an Aussie assitant comes with no guarantees - some have been great, some awful.

A few months ago many were wanting Brian Smith after his Wakey side showed an improvement, I doubt they'd be saying the same now.

It would be another gamble, but Pearson's shelled out £100K for players like Sneyd and Lynch before, and I think a decent coach would bring more rewards.

£300K is only an extra £40 or so needed from our regular support of 8K people. I can't speak for all of our fans but i'd quite happily give the club an extra £40 to see some decent rugby for a change!

People are more apathetic than at any point I can remember in time. Yes, we can all put up or shut up and support the club, which is an admirable position. It is a position not shared though by more and more and more people.

He has some fair points, but the title of the thread is way over the top. Would a club that is on it's death bed go out and spend all that money on bringing in 3/4 top players?

I really do think next season is a really crucial one in the clubs history, there is plenty to be positive about at the club, but now is the time to get it right on the pitch.

The club will not die, we've been in worse positions, what [icould[/i cause us an issue is the incessant abuse of anyone who has the audacity to criticise. Fortunately it's only the usual (unimportant and irrelevant) opinions on here. Speak to most FC fans and they say the same, sponsorship next season is already an issue and it's only getting worse.
