Agar has to take responsibilty as the coach but the players, equally, have to take their share of the blame. Washbrook shouldn't be knocking on in those areas either, there's not much Agar can do at that time, the players should be better than that.'"
I agree the responsibility has to be shared to an extent, but the 'not much Agar can do once they cross the whitewash' line is pretty irrelevant to me because the point is that he's responsible for putting them there in the first place and for preparing them. At the end of the day we've had a massive turnover in players since Agar took over and the same problems remain, there's only one common denominator.

I agree, mate. I hate it when people say 'there's nothing the coach can do when the players cross the whitewash' that's bollox, of course they can and should. I've never been happy with Agar in charge and as the years go by I'd like to see him removed but sometimes people blame coach for absolutely everything and that shouldn't be the case.

That's true, Pete. But the blame has to go both ways, Washbrook knocking on from the play the ball after Tomkins had gone and missing a vital kick at goal right at the end can't be blamed on Agar, either. We should've won that game, especially when they went down to 12 but I'd look at the players before Agar.'"
Wigan from what I can gather were there for the taking and the only thing keeping them so close to us was the fact our poor discipline kept carrying them back up the field.
That for me must have being in the game plan, not to deliberately give pens away but along the lines of "slow them down, take Tomkins down at all costs". Which in the end kept them close to us when in reality if Wigan had played a Wire team today they would have being beaten comprehensively.
That said the game plan which Agar played today nearly worked and if we had won the reaction on here would be a lot different. I'm firmly in the Agar out camp however we have demanded improvement since the Leeds game and we are getting it. Which I think he deserves credit for , considering the pressure hes being under. He is not the right man for the job, we know this but it looks like we will be stuck with him.
I know we wasn't expecting to win today but that doesn't make it ok we threw away a winning position. This is something which is becoming regular under the Agar regime and it can't be just a coincidence. Three seasons ago we would have had an uproar at us losing from that position we were in today but for some reason today we are just happy to be within one score of them. Probably an indication of how far the club has dropped down since the 2006 Grand Final.
ATEOD we as supporters deserve a lot better, the club deserves a lot better.

| I usually don't mind the Hull teams (having spent 3 years in your fair City), but you had very little to be proud of today. You came with house tactics and had a referee that let you get away with murder. Horrible to watch.

We'll wait to see what the officials at the RFL say then.

Good post.
I to am firmly in the Agar Out camp, and I also very much agree that 3/4 years ago we'd have been devastated to lose a lead...
however (as you state) since the Leeds game we have seen a big step up in performance, and both board and players seem firmly behind Agar, so we are left with no choice but to back him.
However the run of games we have coming up is a lot easier IMO. We have Wakefield at home next, which on present form is the easiest game of the season. I expect a convincing victory, and anything less again raises massive questions about Agar.
after that we face Quins and Cas who are enjoying strong early season form, and Bradford and Catalan who are struggling.

| When being tackled Sam Tomkins always traps the tacklers hand preventing the tackling player from rolling away fro mthe tackle. The refs fall for it week in week out.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

I agree Sheldon and to me its not just the winning but the performance that matters.

I'm bothered about losing, regardless of effort

Think Quins will beat us, we nearly always struggle travelling to them. Castleford could go either way too, the way they've been playing. You're still never quite sure how Cas will perform on any given day. We could very possibly end up with only 2 wins from the opening 8 games.

i would look closer at some of your own teams tactics before commenting on ours, headhunting, gang tackling trying to turn the player over after the tackles were completed, sam tomkins play acting that didier drogba would be proud of, thug style rugby, and a deserved sending off
