As bombed out has said above I’d have much rather tried a 22 year old with something to prove than Cust who can’t even get in Salford’s team and is injury prone. Lovodua never won Queensland cup player of the year either.

| Let's not go over the top here, it's not like Rimba is a top NRL player, Cust has played for Wigan and Manly, Rimba deemed not good enough for the NRL.
Let's not get carried away by a youtube highlights as we have been here before.
Cartwright will know more about both players, we also have three young hookers.
Maybe we should trust Cartwrights judgement.

Didn't exactly work out too well with Ockunbor or Pele.
Salford ate 4th, we finished 11th, that's the position we are in.
I'm not sure using our quota spots on a gamble is a good.idea.

Cust isn’t even a top championship player.

Anybody with any knowledge of the game would never have signed Okunbur.

That's why he has spent his full career at top rugby clubs ( apart from us).
You obviously know more than Cartwright.
You would think Rimba was Jackson Hastings the way you ate going on.
Good chance to have a moan and dig at the club though.

Well he was regularly picked by a top NRL coach, but the point us, we have only seen Rimba in highlights, Cartwright will have a much better insight into him and there was a reason we pulled the plug.
We either trust Cartwrights judgement or we don't.

He’s been at Salford a year, and they had an option for him for a second but have said no thanks. Wigan soon got shut of him too. Time will tell, but Cade Cust isn’t going to get us out of the mess we are in be lucky if he plays 15 games, absolute waste of a quota spot. They give us an excuse to “rant and moan” we just finished joint bottom and have largely recruited poor again.

I'm not fan of the Cust signing, but he is a decent player if fit, he showed that Wigan (first season) and at Manly, most fans agree that on paper this looks a bit of a gamble, it's been mentioned hundreds of times on here.
But the bed wetting because Cas have signed a QRL cup hooker we turned down is way over the top.
Recruitment which is still on going, has been solid and should improve us.
I've asked others who else we could have signed?
Yet to be given any sensible answers, if the answer is Rimba then I'm worried.

I just don’t see the recruitment as solid, I know what you saying hard to attract players because of our position, but I largely think recruitment has been poor personally.
For me people are putting too much emphasis on Cartwright. Fact is he’s not been a head coach for 10 years. I for one hope he comes here and transforms the club as that’s what we all want. But the signings are largely underwhelming and people are expecting him to work miracles with a largely poor injury prone squad yet again. I just can’t see much changing in 2025, if that’s having a “dig or rant” then so be it. Just an honest assessment.

More than likely as Cust and Sezer are “Johns” signings allegedly. Borough as first choice 9 only played about 20 SL games since his debut in 2019 doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

| Which Head Coaches roles did Peters, Burgess, Peet come from before they got their teams finishing in the top 3 this year? Fact is, he's worked in some fantastic environments, the NSW Assistant Coach. It's a fantastic pedigree.

| We have made 5 good signings in Hardraker, Asiata, Seizer, Cartwright and Rapana.
Abdul could be a masterstroke if we can get him back to his London and early Rovers form.
Holmes strengthens the backrow and a young hooker with potential.
We are going from Moy, Trueman, Charles, Smith and Fash to
Rapana, Seizer, Abdul, Cust and Asiata.
Plus greater depth in those positions.
Going from Smith, Gene and Grix to
Cartwright, Last, Grix, Ellis and maybe one more is massive too
Think there are reasons to be cautiously optimistic for next season.

All those have had walked into good clubs with good squads and money to spend, I do get your point, but we are the opposite absolute basket case with a poor squad.
