Be happy with Byrne and hopefully its true, he is good player and young enough, a bit underused at Wigan, but they have so much strength in that department, ideally he replaces Sao, but if if Sao stays, think he would be a good signing. If Sao goes, still hopeful of another forward to come in.

Desperate for another centre, as I said yesterday, we might have to target an under contract player and use a transfer fee, someone like Toby King or Harry Newman. Other than that, someone like Connor Wrench. If we dont have a quota place that is.

If we do, bring in Te Where.

Byrne would be a good signing for me. Young enough but also still experienced and coming from a first class team and environment. A big body who can run hard. Has disciplinary problems at times so that would need a lot of work but he still has his best years as a prop in front of him so if he can channel his aggression a bit better I think he'd end up been a big player for us.
Wigan have an embarrassment of richs in the pack and lads like Hill knocking on the door so I can see them been willing to part with him.

Would be pleased with his signing.

Byrne was a name I heard in June/July time, and thought it was a bit unrealistic as he was in the Wigan side, and playing well.

He is a big body, aggressive, and would add much needed size

Shock KR try to sign a youngster from elsewhere rather than developing their own.

Cas are after that Rimbu, would have been exactly what we needed a dynamic hooker. Instead we signed Cust.

So Cas are now after Rimbu.

22 year old who won the Queensland's cup best player award.

And instead we sign Cust, not even good enough to get in the Salford team and who hasn't set SL alight.

To say I'm even more underwhelmed with the signing of Cust after reading the Rimbu article is an understatement.

I'd have rather taken a punt on a young, hungry overseas signing, than this one.

How do you know, never played top level rugby, same was saud about Lovodua, who is now at Doncaster?

As bombed out has said above I’d have much rather tried a 22 year old with something to prove than Cust who can’t even get in Salford’s team and is injury prone. Lovodua never won Queensland cup player of the year either.

Let's not go over the top here, it's not like Rimba is a top NRL player, Cust has played for Wigan and Manly, Rimba deemed not good enough for the NRL.

Well he was regularly picked by a top NRL coach, but the point us, we have only seen Rimba in highlights, Cartwright will have a much better insight into him and there was a reason we pulled the plug.

We either trust Cartwrights judgement or we don't.

He’s been at Salford a year, and they had an option for him for a second but have said no thanks. Wigan soon got shut of him too. Time will tell, but Cade Cust isn’t going to get us out of the mess we are in be lucky if he plays 15 games, absolute waste of a quota spot. They give us an excuse to “rant and moan” we just finished joint bottom and have largely recruited poor again.

I'm not fan of the Cust signing, but he is a decent player if fit, he showed that Wigan (first season) and at Manly, most fans agree that on paper this looks a bit of a gamble, it's been mentioned hundreds of times on here.

But the bed wetting because Cas have signed a QRL cup hooker we turned down is way over the top.

Recruitment which is still on going, has been solid and should improve us.
