| Who's actually available though that would add something? Is there anyone from the championship worth putting a transfer bid in for?

| DT article saying that the club are looking to bring in reinforcements, possibly even before Fridays game.
The logistics of that 2 games in without a quota spot just seems impossible to bring in any long to even mid term signings, isn’t going to happen without some serious transfer fees offered and even then who’s going to want to sell players at this stage?
My guess is maybe a couple of loans or the free agents mentioned on here previously like Livett, Johnson or Royle.

| Livett makes a break both times if he was put through the same gap that Fash was on Friday

| Not sure why we don't offer Livett a short deal, unless he has a good job or is injured, better than we have IMO.
I would t be against Eseh on loan, see what he can do in a better environment than last time.
Might have to make a tough decision with Sao, both short and long term.

We could have a quota spot spare shortly once Sao has his scans.

| Wainhoise didn't play in any pre season games, not sure if he is injured.
Is Jebson injured, ld rather play him than Fash in the backrow.

| I know he's currently injured so couldn't help next game anyway, but getting rid of Staveley looks an increasingly mindboggling decision. Our weakest looking area and we've let go a kid who looked ready to try and cement a spot there, and could have saved us having to make a new signing next year if we could have agreed a deal.
Really hope there was a valid reason for letting him leave but what's done is done and we're not looking at a (hopefully not too long) period of having the worst second row combination in the league.

Will Kirby was 18th man on Friday night, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the 17 this week.

| So Sao injury confirmed as a ruptured patella tendon. 12 month recovery. Looking at special dispensation to de register him.
If not, we should just release him now. Need that quota spot filling.

| Sao reportedly out for the season. Gutted for the guy. This was set to be a big year for him to try and earn a new deal, if not at Hull than at least somewhere. I was expecting him to go really well under Cartwright, and he started off well last week against Catalans.

| Gutted for him and the club, think he would have a good season, probably his last involvement as a Hull player which isn't a great way to go.
Sounds like we are after a prop and a centre, I'd be looking for an overseas centre and domestic prop, as more chance of getting a domestic prop than centre.
Suprised we aren't after a backrower, hopefully that means Cartwright and Holmes aren't far off.

| Awful news regarding Sao, maybe the club and player could come to an arrangement and take a pay off this season, hlep with his recovery..prove his fitness in 12 months time and re-sign as non quota

Yes hopefully. That would seem to be the best outcome and fairest option for both parties.
Good luck to Ligi for hoi recovery.

Well he’s entitled to wages for rest of season and we should do any recovery as standard. But the priority for the club should be getting the quota spot now, him being non quota next season is even more irrelevant now for me.

Agree with this, we have been our own worst enemy at times but we can’t catch a break with the injuries.

| It was odds on to go this way. Gutted for him. Think he's taken far too much flack over the years and has been good value for money. Hopefully there's a way to free up the quota spot and cap space whilst still retaining him next year if he recovers fully.

Jebson was sent to Donny as part of the dual reg but can't see that he has played in the league so far.

| I though Lewis Bienek looked a much improved prop last year for London. I wouldn't be against offering him a deal, maybe just for the rest of the season to start, with a view to extending if he earns it. Problem is I assume he's living in London.
I'd also quite happily look at Will Lovell to strengthen the second row, but I think he's only ever been at London and is their captain so would be hard to tempt.
I know these 2 aren't world beaters but I'm just trying to think who is actually available who are big bodies, have some experience and therefore aren't as much of a risk

Bienek stayed part time last season as he works in the city, so doubt he'd be willing to give that up to make a short term move to hull where he'll likely be released/not first choice when we're back at full strength, similarly with Lovell, think he's a PE teacher during the week, so again, likely won't be giving up a career to make a short term move to us

I wouldnt set your hopes too high. There isn't much available 2 weeks into a season and with limited cap space available while needing to strengthen 3 different positions. Somebody like Sam Eseh is arguably the best we could hope for.
