| Quote: Mrs Barista "Why is it? He's played in the world's best RL stadiums and is one of the leading forwards of his generation. To go out in a ground where the "best" stand is a wreck badly patched with plywood, the terrace crumbling to pieces (literally) and the home fan base about 4k, when it should have at least been at home at the KC in front of 14k fans, is a big disappointment, for him and us.'"
If it was good enough for Mal Reilly to start and end his career there then it should be good enough for Craig Fitzgibbon. Many, many greats have treaded the famous Wheldon Road turf over the years and i reckon that looking back Fitzy will be proud to have it on his CV.

And if he could have chosen a ground to retire on, it would have been Wheldon Road rather than the KC or the DW or Old Trafford. OK then.

He would have chosen lifting the Super League trophy at Old Trafford for Hull FC. That isnt the point of the discussion though is it?

No the point is this. Of all the grounds in Super League, Wheldon Road is IMO the worst. At Salford you get covered Standing behind the goal. At Wakefield there's at least an attempt to provide corporate facilities and the toilets work. Wheldon Road is a dump. At the other end of the spectrum you have the DW, KC and HJ with fantastic facilities and gates >10k. My comment therefore that Fitz deserved to go out at the best stadium in the comp and actually went out at the worst is justified.

| Gutted about this, really am.
A living legend of the game, a great professional and a true role model.
All the best Fitzy, it's been a pleasure.

I would say Kearney is a HullFC legend, even after just one season. His performances in the CC Semi and Final in particularly were top class and played a big part in us lifting the trophy. He is definitely one of the best I've seen wear the Black and White.
overall I'd say Fitz and Kearney have offered similar skills and quality to us...its just Kearney played in a better team so had more impact.

| There is no way Kearney is an FC legend after just one season at the club, neither is Fitzy.
Swain is and always will be an FC legend. Spent a good few years at the club and will always be remembered.
