| I'll probably get lambasted, pillaged, raped and flogged for saying this....
....but I actually think a half-back combo of Berrigan and Tansey at 6 & 7 (Whiting to FB) wouldn't be to shabby at all. Playing behind a firing pack i'd still fancy a top 6 finish.
Alas, i'm sure the season will fade out with a combo of Horne and Washy.

| Quote: SaintsFan "I don't know why some (Saints?) fans are claiming that Longy is injury prone or such like. He is no more or less injury prone than any other player. What Longy has suffered on occasion is horrendous injury, the break to his jaw last season being a classic example of that (and that was his second jaw break - maybe his third, I can't remember - but by far the worst as it knocked the jaw out of position). He is a fearless player and so puts himself in harm's way. It's a real shame he has experienced yet another terrible injury. He's still a Saints legend even if he chose to spend his final two years elsewhere. I hope the elbow isn't as badly injured as first suggested and that he is back playing soon.'"
Not injury prone? Have you read his book? He lists his injuries in there, he's had some terrible injuries over the years.
Maybe I've watched saints more than saintsfan.

Where do i mention any of them?
Why you getting a bag on? I like longy, he is a saints legend!
Im saying he has had alot of injuries over the last 3yrs which is why saints prob let him go, we was paying him very good money to sit in the stands most weeks when we needed a top class 7 on the pitch.
I find your comments very strange, ive just said longys still the best 7 on his day, i said sad news about him.
I think you should get off your high horse!'"
When you call a player injury prone the general implication is that there is something about them, normally age or fitness, that makes them more likely to get an injury. Hence my perfectly reasonable and, TBH, mildly phrased question. I'm not sure why you've flown off the handle and taken it as some sort of challenge to your on-line integrity. Guilty conscience maybe?

I don't mention age or fitness. Some players are more prone to injury. Why? Nobody knows.
You seem to think Im happy longy is injured! Let me put you straight on that matter.
Longy in my eyes is a pure legend. He's one of the best players I've ever seen. IMO he is the best player to play in super league. It was worth paying the entrance fee at saints just to see him play!
Has the been a better match winner than longy? I doubt it. Last min drop goals in finals, few drop goals against wolves, kicks off the touchline. He is a born winner!
He however does pick up alot of injuries, every week he seems to be playing with a injury.
I was very sad when saints let longy go but it was best for the club.
If saints don't win the grand final this year I want hull fc to win it, not because I like hull but because I love longy.

There you go again. Maybe you could point out where I've even [iimplied[/i such a thing.
Believe me, mate - if I thought you were happy about ANY of our players getting injured I wouldn't beat about the bush telling you what I thought.

| Gutted!!
I doubt we will see him again this season which will hit us really hard and dent any title ambitions we had imo. I hope Agar weighs up all the options available to him and does not automatically for Horne and Washy. There is also Tansey and Berro.
Personally I would leave Tansey at fullback for now and try out Berro and Horne.

That would be my preferred option too. Berrigan seems to be struggling to make an impact at hooker when coming from the bench and Houghton is doing a decent job on his own. Hopefully having Berrigan in the halves will give him more of a chance to get into the game.

Thank you Adam Pearson for giving the faithful hope: |
|
| I can't believe Long won't play again this season. We have 8 league games plus 2 weekends off for the challenge cup, before the playoffs.
So for him to be out for more than 10 weeks would be very unlucky indeed

So that's about 9 weeks then. It would have to be a really bad dislocation for him not to be back for the playoffs
