If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| Get him one on one with a back with space and I reckon he would have some success far more times then not.
Again just not utilising our strike players in the right areas at the right time.

Doesn't excuse mis-reads and knock on's though like Yeamo last night and dropped ball by Lyne but other than that i cant really complain about the backs.
The bigger issue was our pack getting beat by a Salford pack that didnt look able to on paper. Was all about entusiasm and we showed none. Fitz and O'Meley were poor who normally lead from the front and Dowes/Radford may as well have not been on the park.'"
Quite.
As I said in another thread (there are so many, you can tell we got beat!) it seems we have a mental issue and have for a long time. We really struggle against the lower teams and just don't seem to be mentally prepared and are unwilling to just get stuck in. The impression I got last night was that we thought we could just go through the motions, chuck the ball about a bit and come away with the points.

Briscoe has real pace but he hasn't been put in the clear at all this season. He only gets chance to use his speed if he breaks the line himself or running down an opposition break.

Well summed up Dave. ATEOTD the players that have been carrying us up front played below par and there was no one else (Moa apart maybe) who wanted to stand up and be counted. You are right about the backs they do get little quality ball but having said that we have had many top class backs down the years who could make things happen from nothing - don't think that is the case now.

If Berrigan continually fails to deliver at hooker I think he would be able to make an impact at centre. True, it would be a gross waste of his abilities as he wouldn't see much ball but he's not doing a great deal with the ball he is getting at present.

I remember when Matty Head was scrum half a couple of years ago his philosophy was to get the ball to Willie Manu as quick as possible regardless where we were on the pitch and the outcome was devastating at times. 20 yards balls in our own 10 yard area just to get Manu the ball in space!

Most of our strike players are grossly mis- or underused to tbh.

Hally is probably the only back that we have with that ability. Obviously Agar doesnt like that kind of spontanaity.

| Can only think of a handful of times our wingers have had a pass in space in the last 3 years.
Contrast that to wigan's wingers who had scored 20 tries between them in the forst 7 rounds of SL

Tell him to stand on the touchline then. He should feel privileged to play for the club/fans.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

Different to Hall offering to play out of position for the sake of the club.
Agar has his favourites and its becoming very very petty now.

the coach knows Turner can play centre stand off or loose man and in Turners defence, if he's not comfortable playing "out of position" on the wing then hes a right to suggest he may do the team more harm him playing there.
its like Berro saying, my prefered position is 9 but if you need me to stand in at 3, 6, 7 or 13 im ok with that and i'll do my best for the team but if you want me to play prop then i dont think the team will perform to its potential if im playing there

To a certain degree I get your point. My grief is that right now we have none/very few options and if he wants to pick 'his' Positions then let him stand on the touchline if he's not picked in 'his' preferred position.
God help us if Whiting,Washbrook,Tansy etc had the same attitude.
Let alone Craig Hall who's nearly had his career ruined by Agar fooking him about position wise.
